| Stayed at the Aliki Hotel in July 2003. Found it to be very clean with good facilities. Rooms cleaned every day and beds changed every other day. Air conditioning & fridge available for a small charge. Was located about a mile out of Skala Centre in beatiful countryside, with lovely gardens, pool & poolside bar which may guests returned to on an evening for a night-cap. Most rooms had a sea & mountains views. Just down the hill from the hotel (and about 300 metres to the right) was the lovliest beach (Kaminia Beach) - it was very natural, 100% sand and lovely warm shallow sea, with a gentle sea-breeze appearing every afternoon - one of the best beaches on the Island. Daniel (the owner) wasn't over-friendly but if you made the effort with him, he was fine with you. He was always happy to ring for taxis which would appear within minutes. Taxis were always available from the taxi-rank in Skala for the return journey (2 euros per person). Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone considering staying here and we would definitely stay here again ourselves. | ||||||||||

| We stayed at the Aliki in 2002 and found that the hotel was very clean indeed. Situated a good 30 minutes walk from Skala too much for us and the kids, easier to use taxis, 4 euros not bad. The beach at Mounda is not far down a very steep unmade road, not too bad to walk down but unless you are young and very fit hard work to get back. We found that hiring a car solves all the travel problems well worth it if only to get to the beach as it is very nice down there, not crowded soft sand gently shelving into a very warm sea, very safe for the kids. Having your own car works out cheaper than going on the organised trips and you can visit other nice beaches that way. Aliki has a nice pool although the bar snacks are basic not much choice. Although some guests did not like the owner, Daniel we made the effort to get to know him and got on very well and had no problems with him whatsoever. Had a wonderful holiday, and are going back in 2003 to a fantastic Island. | ||||||||||

| we have just returned from a week at the 'aliki'. the hotel is a good 30 mins hard walk from skala (there are virtually no buses). transport is essential otherwise you are reliant on taxis. the hotel is clean but a little spartan. bed and breakfast (cerals, toast and bread only)is the only option available and evening meals are not available at all which means you are obliged to visit skala to eat. snacks are available at the poolside bar up to 4pm. the staff (especially barbara) are pleasant but daniel, the manager, is surly beyond belief and should seriously consider a career move as he is obviously not a 'people person'. kefalonia itself is picturesque and skala is a pleasant small town/village. we hired a car from vlm which was excellent value. we ate most evenings at 'mi abeli' which was excellent value for money. | ||||||||||
