Tzivras Apartments

Accommodation in Lassi

Joe A          3/10

I stayed at Tzivras Apts between 12/05/13 26/05/13.

I was informed when I booked this holiday, that Lassi was a lively place to visit with plenty to see & do.

Unfortunately, the resort was very quiet due to the season had not yet started.

Why I was sold a holiday when the resort was partially closed, I don t know.

The Rep informed all that attended her arrivals meeting, of the sights of interest, excursions & means of transport.

When I inquired about the local bus service, the Rep explained how reliable & cheap this service was. I was then told by an employee of the hotel that there was no bus service for the season.

I took a 2hrs scenic walk to the Castle of St George, only to discover that it was closed for renovation. Apparently, it had been closed for ages.

Various other places of interest covered by the Rep were also closed/ not available.

Perhaps the Rep s briefing notes should be updated on a more regular basis.

Good points.

1.  Location of Apt - Within 10/15 mins walking distance to the beaches, taverna s, bars, restaurants, gift shops, supermarkets x 5 & the one & only jewellery shop.

2.  Room Safe Free of charge. (Bonus)

3.  Apt Basic, clean & sufficient facilities for self-catering.

4.  The owner was very helpful.

Bad points.

1.  A/C 5 Euro per day. (The use of locally bought fans is not permitted).

2.  Apt facilities NONE!

    No Security

    No Reception

    No Bar/caf

    No TV

    No Telephone

    No Olympic notice board

    Room/maid service 3 x s in 2 wks

NO BATTERY in the smoke detector!!!????

Overall I had a relaxing time, but was too quiet for my liking.

Firstly, to correct my appalling spelling of pear but also to mention that the owner of Tzivras is very keen to promote the Apartment which was only partially occupied whilst we were there – the rooms certainly looked very good and there were excellent views – herewith a link to their website :- http://e-business.kefalonia.net.gr/en/infoID.asp?catid=7&ScatID=100&EntityID=781

This is perfectly adequate accommodation in an ideal position within the resort. The rooms are spacious (larger than the nearby Mediteranee!), clean and surrounded by well maintained gardens boasting lemon and peer trees and vines. As noted by a previous poster, air conditioning is available at €5 per day or a fan can be hired from the shop over the road for €3 per week – either way you will require one or the other because the rooms do become stuffy at night. There is indeed a music bar/pizzeria next door (it is actually called East West – So Simple is the next one on), which does play music until the early hours –however I did not find it loud or intrusive and in fact the background music complemented a late night drink on the terrace outside the room. One word of warning though – the owner who carried out the cleaning duties was of a fiery disposition and needed to be approached with care – she even gave my kids a bollocking for not keeping their room tidy.

Just returned from Kefalonia, great Island very laid back, kind friendly people.

Tzivras apartments were in good location, on Lassi high street.
There is a steep slope when you go in, can be slippery when wet , but we only had one day of rain in 2 weeks .
The rooms are very basic, toaster ,kettle, cooking facilities not great, but surrounded by loads of taverners at reasonable prices.
You can pay for air con 5 - 6 euros a night (would recomened) not only for heat but for the noise from the So Simple bar right next door, music went on till 3am
If you have the air con you can have windows shut this helps with the noise.
Room was cleaned every other day.
Very relaxing island, lovely beaches, would return to Island again.

Really good place. Very clean, says they only come twice a week but was done every other day! Excellent location, about 10-15 mins walk from 3 beaches. Very close to tavernas and bars. Is next to a bar called East West which can be a bit noisy but they generally turn the music down at midnight. It is actually really good because you can sit outside the studio and have a drink and listen to some really good Greek music from next door - it is not head thumping english dance music so don't be put off.

The apartment was acceptable in itself. It was clean and reasonably  well equipped, but. The major problem and one which ruined our 2 week stay was the fact that next door (within 20 metres) was a dancing bar called So Simple. This bar produced loud dance music, thumping bass beat, everynight until at least 3 am. So be warned as, surprise surprise, no mention is made in the First Choice brochure and when we complained we were told it was not technically a disco. or a club so presumably this made the racket more acceptable.

The Tzivras Apts were very basic, but were clean and spacious, was a bit damp and musty underneath the sink, but otherwise ok. they were ok for the rice we paid and we would stay there again. i must mention the First Choice rep we had, her name was Pat and she was first rate. Would use First Choice again

Location is on the main road in Lassi-supermarkets and tavernas close by,so there can be a bit of noise at night.Rooms clean and basic,a bit dark for some people but this meant it was nice and cool. There was a toaster and fan provided also. There is quite a steep slope to the apartments. You can take a stroll to the Mediterannae beach via the back gate along the road, this takes about 5-10 minutes.Makris Yialos and Plati Yialos are approx.15-20 minutes walk(taking into account the heat!)

we are going to Keffaliona in June of 2005and staying at the Tzivras Apartments, and would like some upto date comment's about them please.

Debbie C

Stayed here 3 years ago, going again in June 2004 so will update this once I've been (if necessary). No frills, but clean and adequate for sleeping, changing and having a drink outside your appt before heading out. There was a communal bbq that could be used. No views but plenty of bars/restaurants along the strip that do. All in all a good base.

I am going to Kefalonia in june with friends. I am staying at Tzivras Apartments but my friends are staying at the San Lorenzo Apartments. I am trying to find out how far apart the two hotels are. Can anyone help?

Marc K

stayed their in 2000 found it adaquate, best bits were it was near to a good small semi-private beach and easy access to the bars and restaurants, worst bits no view no pool, although I have now found out you can use a pool in a nearby hotel (bit late though !) couldn't have been that bad as I am going back in October 2002,,, will post a new review ASAP

we were underneath the "villa" and had to put up with noise from above.it was nice to have a toaster in the room and the owners had gone to some trouble to make the place quite homely.it is well situated for bars and tavernas

Located on the main Lassi Road. We stayed on the ground floor, and this was a bit dark, with no view so to speak of. The larger apartments situated on the first floor have a much better view and a lot of light. Studio itself was adequate, clean and quite spacious.
