Sissy Apartments

Accommodation in Lassi

Irene C

Had the same problem last year so stayed at Polymnia Apartments just below Sissy pool. Sissy had been taken over by a foreign tour operator (Scandinavian/Dutch??) and as it is nowhere to be seen with British tour operators , I can only presume it is the same this year. Unfortunately, having found the fantastic Polymnia Apartments, and having booked for this year, they have now been dropped by Kosmar and don't appear to have been taken up by other tour operators!!! Its Marina 1 This year!!!

Hi,

We have stayed at the Sissy apartments four times to date and I am trying to book to stay again this year as the view is UNBEATABLE, but have so far been unsuccessful in trying to find out which tour operator they are on with.

Please can anyone help as I have tried numerous travel agents and no one has them listed!

I am in the UK.

Thanks,

Kate

We have just spent a week in Lassi at the Sissy Studios. We had seen the reviews before we went and were a bit concerned about some of the comments. As other people found, the location and views are fine, but the rooms are very basic and could do with a good clean and redecorating.  However, the floors were cleaned mid week, and the sheets and towels changed once in the week.  It was usefull to have the sellection of drinks and food in the apartment when we arrived, as it saved going shopping too often.   The pool is lovely; clean and was never too busy, with sun beds always available.  Overall, we had a lovely holiday. Lassi itself is a nice little town. We did go on a couple of the Kosmar trips to see more of Kefalonia and to Ithaca. As it's the first time we have stayed in apartments in Greece, we cannot compare Sissy with others, though they are a bit grotty !

We read eviews on this site which were not too flattering.  However they have good basic facilities and air conditioning can be hired.  The views are breathtaking and well worth the trek up the steps.  Despite the apartments being near enough to resort, the location is still peaceful.  Pool is great with plenty of shade but pool bar not always manned.  Staff are friendly and helpful.  We would highly recommend a stay at Sissy Studios.

Just returned from a brilliant fortnight here again. Tried to book for next year but Kosmar have dropped them. They refused to say why. They are in the first edition of their brochure for 2006 but are now OUT. If anyone finds out if another tour operator takes them on please post here.

Stayed at Sissy from June27th through to July 10th. The apartments are very good although this is as you would expect from Greece. The View is BRILLIANT best time to have a glass of wine and watch the sunset. The pool is one of the largest we have had while visiting Greece and makes an excellent stop off up and down the Hill...and you will find out what the hill is like as soon as you arrive.

The owners very thoughfully puts a food package together which you will find in your room, this will save the hard"Slog" up that Hill. The prices are very comparable.Over all excellent service from the apartments owners, very clean and worth the slog!!!

Stayed here in 2002 and returning inJuly 2005.(couldn't have been that bad!) The location is ideal and although they are up a hill, it is not too bad. You should try Liberatos Now that is a hill!! If you turn left just after the pool there is a short cut that takes you right into the middle of Lassi and you are on the doorstep of the Nefeli restaurant(our favourite) If you go there tell Katie that Irene Brian and Scott will be there on the 3rd July  There are lots of good restaurants on Lassi's main road and if you are looking for a good walk to get started, you could try the coastal road to Argostoli via Finari. At the Dolphin supermarket take the road towards Oscars and just keep walking. It is about 4k and Sissy is just up the hill from the Dolphin. ENJOY!!

We have just returned from Sissy Apartments and we were very happy with them. They are basic, but that was expected, the views are breathtaking, the only problem was the steps to the pool, all 40 of them.

There is a new owner now and he is very pleasant, this is his first season and he is building a new pool bar and terrace, hopefully the bar will be open more often.

We had a good time, look out for the beautiful sunsets.

Just booked Sissy Apartments for July 05 - wish I had found this web site first!

I have to say when we first arrived at the apartments at night, I was highly disappointed - the floor was dirty and the bed was very uncomfortable. When I woke the next morning though it did not seem so bad especially as the views from our room were superb. They are the sort of views that you can sit and watch the sunset every night. The apartments do not have any safety deposit boxes. A Kosmar board is set out outside room 106 which is a courtesy room. On your day of departure you have to vacate your room by 12 o'clock, but we paid the extra 20 euros to stay to 4 o'clock. The only disappointment is that the pool bar was never open. Even when the owner is sat right next to it he still says its closed and will not sell anything!

Forgot to say that because of the position of the aprtments you will probably not need to pay 6 Euros for air con each day. The rooms do not get direct sunlight until just before the sunset. This means that if you keep the curtains drawn when you come in at lunchtime it is as cool as if it was air conditioned! plus if you arrive after 6pm there you cannot get the control for the air con until miday when the kid by the pool turns up!

I read the reviews of Sissy on this site and was pleased we had no problems there ( we came back last Sunday 5th September 2004) The hot water worked fine all week, the room was cleand every day. The views from the back were stunning- superb sunsets each evening. The location was very quiet- no noise from the road, ant he other guests were too. The only cpomplainbt is about the tour operators, kosmar. We did not see a rep at all. To find out when we were being picked up I had to stop one of there coaches. They do not have a diplay board for info at Sissy - no matter what they tell you! We could have been told, for example, that we had to pay 20 Euros to keep our room till 4pm. Kosar aside, a great location to stay/

Had a fab time. Absolutely no complaints. Niko the pool/bar man was very accommodating. Princess Sissy and King Agamemnon!, the proprietors, were lovely. Monte Nero restaurant was superb. Couldn't fault the holiday. Would love to go back to Kefalonia to repeat the experience.

Tina M

The apartments were the let down of the holiday, the air conditioning didn't work all week even though we complained about it everyday, which was one of the reasons we chose these apartments! We didn't have any hot water all week either, we varied the times we showered but it didn't make any difference there just wasn't any!!

The pool was good, nice and big and not busy.

Kefalonia is a fantastic island but we wouldn't chose these apartments again!!

The apartments were the let down of the holiday. The air conditioning didn't work all week, even though we complained about it everyday. We didn't have any hot water the whole week, even though it was 40 degrees every day!!!The pool was good though and the view was fantastic.

We would definitely come back to Kefalonia but we would choose different apartments!

we found the sissy apartments as a good base for a great holiday ,the swimming pool area is very good, the only downside was walking up the hill after a few evening drinks ,they must have changed the last day arrangements as we were allowed to keep our room until four o clock for a fee of 20 euros if you dont want to pay this there was a room available you dont leave your rooms till twelve so its not to bad

We stayed at Sissy apartments for a week from September 7th 2003. Location is superb as they are situated up a hill away from the town and the views are wonderful on the lovely balcony. They are at the Argostoli end of lassi so it takes literally 20 mins to walk in to the capital from here. It is quiet and peaceful with just the sound of goats bells on the hillside behind. The people staying here at the same time as us were lovely, hello to you all from room 203! The pool is enormous and never seems to be used much as most people are touring the island or on one of the many beaches in Lassi. If you are into pools you will love this. We had the upstairs accommodation which supposedly caters for four, but I think would be a little cramped. It was fine for just the two of us though. I have to say that the wrought iron staircase to the upper floor is very steep and dangerous. I would not like to get up in the middle of the night and come down in the dark as the bottom rung lands half way on the step up from the kitchen and bathroom. Also the wrought iron balastrade upstairs is far too low. Children or even adults sleeping upstairs could easily fall over the top. Apart from that, the facilities are good, they are clean and fairly basic, we were out all day so it was fine. On the last day we were told by Alison, the Kosmar rep that a courtesy room would be set aside for us to use. As we had to vacate our room at 10:00am but were not flying until 9:00pm this would have been very useful, but the extremely unfriendly owner wouldn't let anyone use it, she chased one couple out of the room with a mouthful of abuse to the amazement of us all waiting patiently outside. We all thought this was going a bit too far. We had a great holiday though, Kefalonia is a beautiful island and we will definitely return again soon but will book some other apartments - this web site is brilliant for research!

We just left the Sissy Apartment yesterday. The weather was great, the views from the Apartments was wonderful (Providing you dont get apartment 111) The best views are from the second floor.

The apartments are tatty and very, very basic. The plumbing leaked most of the time and we only had hot water 5 of the 7 days we were there. We complained every morning about the water, but to no avail!!

The pool is great but they only seem to open the bar on the Sunday.

The staff are generally rude and unhelpful.

Good luck

We were very shocked that there was no courtsey room after 3 p.m and were not informed of this, also there was no where to go to the toilet but the lady in charge was adament that it was not her problem and would not open it even for someone who was desperate to go to the loo , he had to go in the bushes which they did. the greek lady for the appts I found to be very insesitive to peoples needs on the day of departure(we've got your money so go sort of attitude). The last day spoilt what had been an excellent holiday till then.the pool bar was only open for two hours during one day then it was open for all the last day

Just got back yesterday night from staying in these apts.

The view is to die for.

Basic apartments, very warm if you sleep on top bed up the stairs.

Aircon is a god send, even if it does cost 6 euros a day.

Pool is a great size, and bar is open 12-5 every day.

Cleaners were warm and friendly.

Worth it just for pool and view alone, so yes I would stay here again.

Owner's son was always pleasant with me when serving at the bar.

As with everything, it's they way you treat them!

we stayed the first two weeks in july, we loved Kefalonia and Lassi. There is just the right amount of restaurants and a couple of bars-not for the lively holidaymaker!
Kefalonia is the most beautiful Greek island we have ever visited- don't miss the caves and lake trip-well worth a visit. We hired a car-a must-and visited Sami,Assos,Myrtos bay and all over the island. Not for the faint hearted though-the roads are very hair raising!
The Sissy studios are very, very basic and in need of refurbishing. The beds were changed every day, though the cleaning wasnt up to much.
The owner and her son are very argumentative-so watch for the Greek fireworks daily! The pool area is a lovely setting-pity the bar was hardly open, and the pool needs a good clean too.
After saying all this-we really enjoyed our holiday especially the monte nero restaurant in Lassi where the food is fab. We will definitely be returning to Lassi,Kefalonia but probably not to the Sissy studios if they havnt had a refit-pity as the location is perfect.

First impressions:really great veiws from appartments, abit basic inside but acceptable!
I spent a week there at the start of July, the weather was brilliant and food along the main road was good-maybe abit expensive!
Hire a car and explore, the beaches are to dye for-Myrtos bay is a must do!!
The people who run the appartments i found rude towards the end of my holiday, tried to charge me 6 euros a day for using the air con-admitted they had been spying on me!

I have just come back from a great 2 weeks in Lassi. I stayed at the The Sissy apartments and here is what i think.
*Situated up a long windy hill that is 15 minutes form town, which is good as the only music bar stops playing music at 2-4 but bad as it is a trek each day. Top tip is to rent a bike for 10 euro a day and use this to get you around and about.
*The owners were not that freindly and tried to con me into paying 6 Euro a day for using the aircon.
*The rooms are very basic, even for Greece.
*The pool is excellent but 49 steps down hill from the apartment.
* fantastic view of the bay
I would not stay there again but would deffently go back to Lassi as it has it all and the island is great.

We visited for a week 13 - 20 October 2002. I had visited Kefalonia in 1986 and expected it to have suffered the brunt of tourism and the book, but was surprised to find it still relatively unspoilt. The apartments are up a hill - need to be mobile. They are basic, could do with sprucing up. Facilities are fine. Pool is very nice - plenty of space and very quiet. Ideal for a get a way from it all break and a good base to explore the island.

The Mezzanine apartments at Sissy apartments are too small for four people and the staircase up to the "double room" are dangerous! The views from the apartment are stunning and they are in a quiet location. The atmosphere of the apartments would be greatly improved if the bar played music, served food and stopped open in the evenings for drinking and socialising.it would also be lovely if the owners spent some time with their dog instead of keeping it chained up to a tree on the hill 24/7 !!!
