Accommodation in Lassi

Keith W

Just back on Tuesday from a week at Gradakia and I have to admit we were pleasantly surprised. Having read the feedback on here before going we were a bit concerned, but after packing extra towels and ear plugs we decided to take our chances

Yes there are problems with towels as despite requests from the tour company rep, the owner still only provides two hand towels per room. Also she does seem to have a thing against providing toilet rolls - we we had to buy locally!. There is some noise at night from the Exclusive Bar and the Eden both of which are on the main road about 50 meters away, but despite having to leave the windows open all night (no air conditioning) 'cause of the heat, we did not find the noise too obtrusive and never used the ear plugs. On the one night Exclusive were playing music with a thumping beat, our 18 year old went down and asked them if they could turn it down, which they did without any problem. They stop the music on the stroke of 2 am apparently. We had rooms 5 and 6 which are on the second floor furthest away from the Exclusive, so that might help.

The maid service seems to have improved as she cleaned our room each day, emptied the bathroom bin and made the beds.

All in all we'd judge the Gradakia as good quality, budget accommodation - we've certainly stayed in far worse in Greece in the past. Just remember to pack plenty of towels, toilet rolls and ear plugs if you like early nights!

Just got back from these aparmtments.  Very very basic, no kettle or towels  in the room, no light in the bathroom at all.  Sheets were changed once during our stay, and our room was cleaned at least 3 times during our week there.

Apartments are set in nice gardens, but personally i would not stay in these apartments again.  Location is good you are within minutes walking distance of everything.

We have just come back from a week staying at these apartments. The location is good, only minutes from plenty of good bars and restaurants and about 20 min walk from the main beach, although there is a smaller beach only 5 mins away. What lets these apartments down is the cleanliness. The linen is only changed weekly and no bath towels were provided. For most of the week we had to empty our own bins and the toilet bin was not even empty on arrival!! The noise from the bar can be heard but is not as loud as I had expected from reading other reviews.

We were staying in room 6 from July 17th - August 3rd 2004.
The rooms were basic and not very well kept. Sheets were changed once a week. Bins etc including the dreaded toilet bin were changed every 3 days.
The noise was appalling. Mopeds with loud exhausts going past all night- young Greeks posing in front of the tourists!
The bar next door playing the same music over and over from 7pm - 3am.
The fridge was really loud when it kicked in and repeatedly woke us up.
The location was good with the wonderful Argostoli only a mile's walk away.
I'd go to Kefalonia again but wouldn't stay in these apartments.

I have just come back from these studios, maid service was poor, the bar next door did play same music over and over, but they shut 8 days ago so that was good ( who let the dogs out at 6.30pm every night you did not need a watch ) the fridge was very noisy, sheets changed once in 2 weeks. I would go back however. Sunsets were out of this world, i stayed in room 2 1st floor.

Basic accommodation, reasonably clean. The noise didn't really bother us but I can see that it might if you want peace and quiet. It was very hot (August 2003) so we put our mattresses out on the (big, Private, 1st floor, room 6) balcony.

I stayed at Gradakia studios for 1 week and I have to say I was
rather pleased to be home. Although I know that Greek
accommodation is basic, this really was far from basic. The
room was is serious need of modernisation and they did not
change the sheets for an entire week!! We were in room No.1
and we had a good sized balcony on the first floor. The bar next
door was relatively noisy so if you prefer it really quiet, I would not
recommend it. The location was great. Very central!

We stayed at the Gradakia Apartments in May and found them to be an ideal base in Lassi. Handy for the supermarket, restruants and the Beach. Rooms are basic with good size balconys. The kitchen is typical greek style and you dont have a kettle ot dish clothes provided. If you can request a room upstairs you will have a view of Lixouri and the sun setting. We would stay here again.

Nice room with a good sized terrace, close to the beaches, not to far to walk to Argostoli. The slight downer was the music from the next door bar - the sames songs, over and over again (I'll be happy if I never hear 'Wind of Change' ever again!). Take a pair of earplugs. Not cleaned as often as other people's comments led us to expect, but it was OK.

Just off the main street in Lassi, within walking distance of all the amenities. 2 mins walk from Gradaki beach. This family run studios appeared to be for couples only. Very friendly and regularly cleaned.
