This is the most awful accommodation I have had to stay in. It ruined the start of our holiday until we found ourselves an alternative place to stay. If you want to stay in a dark, dingy, dirty garage type room with a locked metal shutter at the only window, miserable staff, paper thin walls, on a busy through road then this is the place for you. Over rated by Sun Isle holidays and severely over priced.
We stayed in the Metaxatos in October this year and we found the apartments very well maintained and clean, the staff were very friendly and our cleaner called in everyday.
The location of the the apartments are excellent with only a 5min walk into Lassie.
The views from the Metaxatos are second to none, if you are lucky you will end up with room 8 at the top and to watch the sunset it is Fantastic. The pool area is clean and tidy and a young couple have just taken over the running of the bar, you must try there homemade burgers!!!
Whilst there we met a new freind, the owners wonderfull German Shepherd dog call Era,Eva ( I think we lost it in translation, but offer her food and she is anyones friend)
You must also try Butlers Bar on the main street the food is wonderfull and the service brilliant.
We would reccomend the Metaxatos Apartments and we are looking to book again next year whilst our villa is being built but don't seem to be able to find it through Olympic!!!!
Hello everyone, I am only 14 and i am loving greece, it ismy first time abroad and i love it, i and my family have not had any problems on this stay here, we are very thankful to all the kindness off of the staff I think we will have a great time for the rest of our stay and i'd just like to say thank you to everyone at the METAXATOS APARTMENTS, thanks for the great stay, and ill be very sad to leave.
We are going back to Metaxatos apartments for third year running this September. We found the apartments great. Very clean with beautiful sunsets. The staff were very friendly, helpful and polite. The bars and restaurants are really good too. Try Nefelis when your there. Meals are really tasty and the staff are very polite too.
We are really looking forward to another relaxing holiday at Metaxatos.
I have spent my holidays with my family at this fantastic well organized hotel. Definetally next time on our next visit to the island we ll choose Metaxatos apartements again.

These appartments are well located, the staff friendly and the views are spectacular. I really enjoyed my time here and look forward to going over again in August this year.
We really enjoyed enjoyed our stay in our Metaxatos apartment, with its wonderful views and glorious sunsets. Very well located with easy access to the beach and to the main town of Argostoli, this holiday was a real treat. The staff were very friendly and helpful and we are looking forward to being there again soon.
I am really very sorry for all the inconvinience caused last summer to Mr. Woodruff's family during their stay at Metaxatos Apartments. I deeply apologise Mr. Woodruff for all the problems you have had. Our aim is our guests to be satisfied and happy and we do our best for it. Last year it happened our family to have to be away for most of the time during summer and this was the main reason for some problems not to be handled the best possible way.
For summer 2007 everything has been taken care for, we have renovated all bathrooms and kitchenettes in the studios, so there will be no problems of this type any more. We shall also be here at the premises to serve you better and meet your needs. We run these apartments for many years we never had serious problems in the contrary we have many satisfied customers who come year after year.
This year the place is better than ever waiting to welcome you. Looking forward to meet all of you who are planning to stay with us, I wish everybody safe flights.
P.S. I am also very sorry for what happened to Mrs Paula Duckworth. This is something between her and Olympic Holidays and we have nothing to do whatsoever. If it was up to me I would have found a way to accomodate her baby without problems.
Stayed at the Metaxatos studios in August 2006 and found the site untidy, many of the lights around the site were switched off,leaving you to stumble in the darkness back to your apartment, the smell from the drains was dreadful, and around the edges of the pool, and we were without a toilet for three days,so we had to flush the loo using a bucket of water. One of the reasons for choosing this accomodation was for the childrens play facilities,however, the swings and other "toys" were broken or just in an awful state of repair. My family and I have been visiting Kefalonia now for 14 years and this site was the worst we have experienced. Unfortunately, Olympic Holidays did not want to know, and the Metaxatos staff although very polite and friendly just did not seem to know what to do
It is worth staying at Metaxatos for the view alone. Awesome sunsets, and at night the lights across the water sparkle. The location is also excellent. Literally 5 minute walk will bring you to a small beach, which doesnt get too busy at all, and the water is crystal clear and warm.
Also 5 minutes away is the local supermarket which sells everything. And only 20 minutes walk away is Argostoli, which is quite lively at times and a good place to eat and drink, or just walk along the harbour and spot some turtles!
The apartments are a reasonable size, clean and well stocked. They also have a TV with a couple of English news channels if you want to keep up to date with events whilst having a siesta! The balconies and terraces are a great size.
The only problem with Metaxatos is the smell from the bathroom. I've been to Greece many times before, but it was definitly the worst I had smelt this time round. The drains and sewers smell quite bad. Not pleasant, though it is all part and parcel of a holiday in Greece.
We didn't stay in these apartments but we regularly used the pool bar there and it is very nice, very clean, free sunbeds and friendly staff, also lovely view across the sea!

While on the transfer bus from the airport, we were slightly worried because the Olympic rep was warning people not to expect too much from their apartments. She warned people of no utensils in the kitchen, no kettles, small rooms, extremely small showers and few amenities. Thankfully she was describing other people’s apartments because ours were great.
We had plenty of kitchen utensils and crockery, 3 hob cooker / oven, kettle, fridge etc and lots of cupboard space.
The bathroom was more than adequate and kept clean and the shower was big enough with a good flow of hot water.
The rooms were a reasonable size with plenty of wardrobe space and comfy beds. We had free satellite television and air-conditioning was available upon request. A cleaner came in every day to empty the bins and have a general tidy up and the sheets were changed twice a week.
The best part about this room was the view. Most rooms have a balcony overlooking the sea (with table and chairs provided) and it is well worth opening a bottle of Mythos and watching the sunsets, which are amazing in Kefalonia.
The Pool bar is very well equipped and serves good food and the prices are very competitive compared to the local café bars. The pool itself was clean and well maintained and there were more than enough sun loungers for everyone.
The location of Metaxatos is excellent. It is situated very close to the main part of Lassi where there are plenty of restaurants and a few good bars, however it is far enough out (5 min walk) so that you are not disturbed by any noise. It is also only 15 min walk away from Argostolli.
The only negative point about Metaxatos is that some of the rooms are close to a main road which is very busy during the morning. To be honest this was not too intrusive and we soon got used to it.
On the whole we thought the apartments were excellent and would have no hesitation in recommending them to you.
Just got back yesterday and we've definately got holiday blues! We both had a lovely time and it was just as good as last year. We would recommend these apartments as they are in a good location and they have the most amazing views. The apartments are very clean and the maids came in almost every day to clean and tidy our room. The weather was very hot - well into the 30's each day! If your considering going to Kefalonia - stay here! We can't wait to go back again!
me and my boyfriend are going back to these appartments again this sept as we enjoyed ourselves so much last year! the apartments were so clean and well equipt we couldn't have asked for more! can't wait to go back - really looking forward to seeing those beautiful sunsets from our terrace......
