| Very basic, was rather dissapointed when I first walked into our room but you get used to it. Could do with a bit of a makeover.Make sure to ask the cleaner for things you need as she is very good at doing the minimal amout of work. Peaceful location though. Forget all the restaurants in Lassi - they are terrible. Yes I am being biased being Greek myself but there is nothing there which has not been made up for tourists to eat. I was very dissappointed. Go to Argostoli - I sampled the best and most authentic food there on the island and there is usually something going on in the square. Why stay in a man-made resort when you have a very authentic capiltal just down the road??? You will enjoy! | ||||||||||

| see my web page on Despina/Lassi 2004 at www.tinyurl.com/53jps by the way Oskars isnt THAT brilliant, worth a visit once but there are plenty of other places with better food such as the sunset taverna down the road which is opposite phaedra on Lassi High street, excellent food, good value, good staff. Also portside opposite the port authority building in Argostoli, near the ferry terminal. Oskars seems to spend a lot of time littering the whole island with flyers and booklets telling everyone what a great time you WILL have. The great big bar development which has sprung up on Makris yialos beach is hideous. It pounds out loud music every day and is full of the "beautifull people" all posing all day. I'd rather listen to the gentle lapping of the sea and children enjoying themselves than have music boomed at me and see plates of chips passing me as they are carried back to sun loungers,,urghh. The rape of Kefalonia is well underway.Despina is fine, not too far up the hill, only three minutes, apartments are very basic but then you get what you pay for.. | ||||||||||

| Just come back from 1 week in Kef and stayed at Despina. Was worried by the comments but when we arrived it was great! The views are amazing as its up a slight hill, sunset is just the best, v central to the most lively resort(don't worry its pretty tame area!), yet v quiet and relaxing. Rooms were clean, had to hire a fan though (1 euro a day) big fridge and freezer. Hot water all the time, rooms are cleaned every other day. We used Marianna pool (great 4 greek food by a pool)and Malibu Bar (ace diving board, and the best chips in Lassi!!) Loved it will def go back again :) | ||||||||||

| We arrived back from the Despina apts on 30th August and all we can say is it was wonderful. We were concerned about the comments we had read before going but as soon as we got there we found out we had nothing to worry about, we stayed in room 3 and had a good sized two bedroom apt with fridge freezer, hired a fan off Doris (well worth 14euros) lovely veiws both day and night and safe patio area for our children to play out on. Doris is a friendly and helpful host and we look forward to having a return visit very soon. Used pool at Marianna by supermarket friendly snack bar and free sunbeds. | ||||||||||

| Wow! What a find! Lovely 2 Bedroomed apt overlooking the sea. Doris the owner lives above the apts and is very helpful - she has written a book about Kefalonia for children. Hire a fan for one euro a day - well worth it in the hot climate. Make sure you take bath towels with you as only hand towels are provided. Plenty of swimming pools nearby and loads of taverns to eat in. Our apt even had a small freezer. | ||||||||||
