Restaurants in Skala

We went to Zorbas four times for evening meals, and numerous times for
breakfast. We found it by far the best restaurant in Skala. Ok, it is a little pricey
compared to some, but the food and service are superb. As fast as we could
tip we kept getting it back in free drinks. Look forward to going back and
seeing everyone there.

Gemma and I came here a few times to eat and often to drink, partly because we were learning to dive (PADI OW) with Panos from bubbles next door who was also a p/t barman. We had really nice food and really nice cocktails (on non diving nights), as well as meeting many of the great guys who worked there. We even went clubbing al-fresco (in between Skala and Poros) with them one Saturday after they all got off.

Ate here 3 times during our stay. Food was exellent and well prepared. The beef in lemon sauce was lovely. Didn't do small portions of the main meals for children which makes it a little more ecpensive when your kids don't want the usual childrens meals. Waiters and waitresses very attentive and appreciated my attempts at the Greek language.

A bit pricey and waiters seem to try to get you to spend more money by suggesting extras like salads etc. Not great service but a nice enough restaurant. Smallish portions but was nice nonetheless.

Don't understand 10/10 rating, there are many other restaurants, far better food and realistic prices!

A dissapointing experience after the hype. Had the chicken in lemon which was a very generous portion but rather over flavoured. Did eat it all though!! No real atmosphere, surroundings seemed a bit strange - not comfortable. Service was good and attentive - only went there once!

Don't know what the previous contributor was on about. This was the best place we ate at & I definately recommend their Kefalonian meat pie(excellent). The crockery was smart, cutlery new & clean, staff all immaculate & very attentive.
Joseph the barman was an artist with his cocktails, don't waste money on a suite if you are having a cocktail afterwards as you get enough fruit on the top for two.Happy hour prices after 10.00pm.
Hope to put a picture of Joseph on the site when I get my films developed.

after reading about zorbas or'the old village' on these very pages we thought we would try it out! oh dear! first night of the hols not bad nice decor good service but very small portions and nothing special.went again for my b/d after befriending one of the waiters who said he had a special treat for me that night. had our meal chicken in yogurt, more like a birds eye chicken pie but alot more expensive! also steak in cream sauce that wasnt bad. desert time came and Harris the waiter appeared with a cake and candle for me! what a lovely gesture and very much appreciated until we learnt at a later date that the boss lady told Harris off for buying a cake out of his own money and giving it to us because in her eyes it meant we wouldnt order any desert from her menu!(even though the final bill came to over 60 euros)dont bother bringing the kids...not much of a kids menu, apparently the owners dont wants 'kids' running around their resaurant. one very positive note: John the cocktail barman is a magician...probably the best looking and tasting cocktails ive ever seen and apparently the man is only on 20 euros a night! if any bar owners are reading this then get over to kefalonia and snap him up!finally...if you want good service as well as good food pay a vist to the Flamingo...Harris is now working there and is a craftsman and a credit to his profession and country. thanks john and harris and the rest of the waiters at Zorbas for their hospitality.

We have eaten at all the restaurants in Skala and this one is definitely our favourite. The chicken dishes are superb. Dont be put off by the fact you cant see a great deal from the road just go in and try it the food is excellent. Just read the comments book on the right as you go in.

Best place to eat in Skala by a mile. Enough said!

We cannot fault this place set back from the main road, in a flower garden. The mousaka was the best in town, I have tried most of them, a big thanks to John(Yiannis) who's service was excellent. The Stifado and Kleftiko was excellent, but I dream of returning for the mousaka. If as the guy below, you had a bad experience then complain, but do it with a smile and they will sort your problem immediately and without fuss. Enjoy the food and the place, Yiassu!

My Husband and I had 2 lovely meals at Zorbas I would recommend the moussaka (the best i've ever tasted) and the stifado (greek stew), very friendly people and we got comlimentry drinks as well. 10/10 from us.

WE FELT THE FOOD WAS EXCELLENT A LITTLE EXTRA HAD BEEN PUT INTO THE PRESENTATION, WITH LOVELY CROCKERY. MEALS TOO WERE VERY NICELY PRESENTED. LAMB KLEFTICO & THE CARBONARA NOT TO BE MISSED. THE ONLY TAVERNA TO GIVE COMPLIMENTARY OUZO AFTER MEAL.

The best cocktails and only £2 in happy hour.
