Brilliant food, brilliant wine, brilliant staff, brilliant atmosphere. Don't need to say any more.

We went here after recommendations from holidays uncovered and this site, and it did not dissappoint, food was lovely and even sorted out nice seat so we could watch the Portugal v France game. Nice service and the food was A1+ I had the stuffed lamb which id recommend and my partner had the Kleftico which she loved. Try the pitta with houmous and tzatziki and aubergine starter yum yum. enough for 2 as nice appetizer!

Aquarius and the Pines were pretty similar - the food is excellent, but they just aren't very Greek. One tip I would give for anyone going to Skala who likes to enjoy a long meal is to ask for a 20 min break in between starter and main as in all restaurants they came too quickly.

We stayed just outside Skala and were recommended Aquarius by numerous people and it did not disappoint we ate there on several occasions the local duck pie was great if a little different and always had a friendly welcome if i had my way i would have ate there every night food was amazing and the location even better !!!!! hope to come back soon and who knows maybe for good

In our opinion, this was our favourite restaurant out of all the ones we tried in Skala.  The service was excellent, the food divine and the wine exquisite.  We were surprised that there weren't more people in the restaurant, although it was October.  All the people in the Sirocco should have gone here instead!

An excellent restaurant, highly recommended.

Two of us ate for 30 euros. The food was good: local salmon stuffed with spinach and cheese (delicious though small) and lamb stuffed with vine leaves, feta and wine (also tasty but meagre) plus bread, a beer and a coke. The service was friendly and good: fairly efficient. The atmosphere was pleasant enough. We also ate at Aiolos and The Pines (better than Aquarius), at Apostolis and Flamingo (similar) and at Gallera and Scandinavia (worse). Aiolos was the pick of the bunch, for both food and location.

We ate here for the first time this year. The menu is extensive and VERY good. The food and service are excellent. Gabriel runs the best restaurant in Skala. Can't wait to go back!

We visited here for the first time this year.  The staff there are very friendly making you feel very special.  The food is excellent and it was nice to get a bottle of cold water in with the meal.  My husband had the pasta two nights running and really enjoyed it. The setting is also very nice because it is away from the main road along the front. It was also used by the Greeks which is normaly a good recommendation

This is a great restaurant with not only great food but also with staff that will make your evening very enjoyable. This restaurant is out of site from the main road so if you go down to the bottom of the main street and turn right at La Luna and walk for about 2 minutes past the chemist you will come to it and it will be well worth it. We have just arrived back and ate there a few times you are never rushed and because its away from the main street its even more relaxed.

Food here was ok. My husband had the steak which was overdone. I had paella which was just average. The baklava dessert was lovely though - it was huge!

We went to Skala in September 12th 2004 and found the aquarious on the 2nd day of our holiday and ate there every night after that. The staff and owner were fantastic....really friendly and made you feel really welcome. The food was lovely and we never got a bad meal. You could have a good laugh with everyone and they gave us lots of ideas on where to visit and what to see. We cannot recommend them highly enough....please go you will not be disappointed! It does get very busy though so you may have to wait at the bar at busy times!

We found the atmosphere and service wonderful. A very relaxing place to eat. There are many good tavernas in Skala but we ate many times in Aquarius in our two week stay in this wonderful resort. The stuffed mushrooms as a first course is must and the Lamb Kleftiko very traditional and first class. See you next year i hope.

One of our three favourite restaurants in Skala - delicious food (I had a chicken and duck and egg pie which was gorgeous) and friendly service. They are happy to reserve your favourite table and I found the service quick and courteous. The kittens provide an amusing floor show!

Mark B

We ate here twice during our holiday, and found the owner to be charming the staff polite and cater for your every need. We tend to eat a lot later at night than some holiday brits, but never had any problems getting a table. It is more of a Mediterranean resturant than a Greek one so if you go treat it as such. You pay a little more but in my opinion you get a little more than other resturants in the resort.

We discovered Aquqrius late in our holiday it really was brilliant the food was unique to the restaurant and in our opinion it is the best in Scala. I had a pork dish and there was lashings of it. My wife had a pasta dish with spinach and roquefort cheese I am no pasta fan but I tried some and it was beautiful. If you eat in Skala don't miss the Aquarius.

Food was ok when it arrived (I waited for over one hour). Menu was quite poor, there was nothing my son fancied at all (I have to admit that he is quite a 'picky' eater but there are other Restaurants which offer better selection, especially for children). The Reastaurant is also off the main drag (I do like to 'people watch').
It is a new Restuarant so perhaps it will improve?

By far the best restaurant in Skala! Food was truly amazing, service was impecable, restaurant itself is wonderfully decorated and the atmosphere was buzzing! Make sure you arrive before 8.30pm to get a table. We were very lucky to get a table at 8.45pm - many people were turned away after or told to come back - if there are a few of you, would be an idea to reserve yourself a table.

Well what more can I say...... The Pines have been knocked off the top spot and beaten into 2nd place by Aquarius! Aquarius is a modern chic resturant which has been opened by Gabrielle (formerly a waiter at Pines) and his brother. The food is top quality, the staff extremely friendly and helpful and the atmosphere unbeatable. Nothing is too much trouble and the staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome. OK so the prices are a little bit more expensive but thats the difference between a night at the Ritz and a seedy B&B..you pay for quality!!!! Well done guys Aquarius is now officially number One in Skala! All the best for 2004!! (Directions to Aquarius From the main shopping street in Scala walk down towards the pines, turning right at the telephone kiosks opposite the Pine. Keep walking along the front of the shops (towards the remians of the Roman Villa mosaic), past the chemist and you will see Aquarius on the right.

This restaurant opened last June having acquired the services of the chef from The Pines so consequently it was not surprising to find that the food was absolutely first-class. Because the chef is given free rein to prepare his own dishes, there is always the chance that you will find something just that bit different on the menu. I tried the pork tenderloin which was everything I could have hoped for!! Because Ianni and Gabrielle had only just opened, there were a few teething problems with the service but that in no way detracted from the overall experience which was a delight. Although quite pricey, the meal was of such a high standard that I would have to say that it represents excellent value for money. Not your typical Greek taverna certainly and not what you would necessarily expect in a resort like Skala but well worth a few visits!! We'll be going back anyway.

I was in Skala last August with my Husband- It was our third visit to the resort...we really love it. Anyway we had this new restaurant 'Aquarius' recommended by friends and can honestly say it was first class..we ended up eating there most nights. The food is different from anywhere else- origional and imaginative and thank goodness not chips and rice served with eveything! The food was so consistently good we tried to eat something different from the menu each time- if I had to choose a favourite it would have to be the fillet of beef with fresh mushrooms and a red wine sauce delicious.
