Restaurants in Argostoli

This restaurant is fantastic. Really fresh Greek food cooked with real flair. Wonderful salads. Mushrooms stuffed with shrimp and crab - every mouthful a dream. Same went for the aubergine bake. Perfect sea bass. Got so enthusiastic that I'd call people in if they were looking at the menu. Plus a massive selection of wine. First time I've found gourmet food on a Greek island and I had to restrain myself from eating there every night. Staff friendly and charming. Slightly difficult to find along harbour front beyond the ferry for Lixouri. Do not miss!!!

STATERI.

Best Meal we had during our stay. Discovered it dus to a guy giving leaflets out on the beach, took a chance was not disappointed.

This restaurant is pure Greek with a gourmet flourish.

Excellent food, excellent service, interested and freindly staff. Deserves to have queues of people lining up for a table.
If you go to Argostoli, take the Fanari Road, past the Lixouri Ferry terminal, just across from the Argostoli Nautical Club. you will find this superbly understated jewel of a restaurant. It is worth the walk from the centre.

Fantastic bread rolls to start, plus small pitta triangles and dip.
Starters: Mushrooms with sausage ann tomato, Avacado with Gravira Cheese.
Main Course: Swordfish Fillet with Lemon sauce, Chicken Fillet stuffed with Olives and Sun-Dried Tomatoes.
Desserts; Creme Caramel, Baklava.
1/2 Carafe of House Wine
35,50 euros

I will be telling anyone I know who is heading to Kefalonia to seek out STATERI.

I have been here regulary since it opened.
It often has many empty tables - don't let this put you off. I've always had
excellent food and good service. Slightly 'up-market' food beautifully
presented.
Waitress (well the one who's always been there for the last few years) doesn't
speak very good English or very good Greek but will get your order in the end.
Slightly off the beaten track, but worth making the effort to go here.

Our favourite meal(s) of our two week honeymoon in Kefalonia were had here. The walnut cake is amazing!!!! It's a shame that it isn't more busy - however, do not let this put you off eating there as you will not be disappointed!!!! Once the word spreads I am sure it will be very busy.

This was the best restuarant we found on Kefalonia. We wish we had found it earlier, a fantastic selection of wines, (a great house red), Cheap beer (1.5 euro). A complimentary dip to start with, and a fantastic, unusual menu. It is opposite the Kefalonia nautical club right on the front near the ferry port. The service was also great! and the prices very good compared to some of the places we had, had bad food thrown at us. (the Cosi Cafe & AgQua bar in Sami).
