Maria Anna Hotel - (Accommodation in Lourdas)

Kate W          10/10

We have just returned from stunning Kefalonia and already want to be back there..well didnt want to leave really!!! We had a fantastic time at the Maria Anna,Jenny and Gregori cant do enough for you. We had one of 3 ground floor rooms but it had a sea view and was level with the garden. I think there are only 4 rooms that do not have sea views. Lovely clean pool with sun beds, brollies and sea views and also a pool bar.We hired a car and visited most of the island although didnt get to see Ithaca...good excuse to go again.Drive to Lixouri and Xi beach then take ferry (with car/2people for 8.10 euros back to Argostoli)runs every 30 mins approx.

Plenty of good places to eat.. Inopolis on the corner by hotel has wonderful views and if you travel with Olympic, the reps meeting is held there and you get a 15% discount card. Rhianon the rep is a gem, well done girl. There is a BBQ on Saturday night at the hotel for 12 euros which is well worth the money..plenty of meat, potatoes tzatziki and salad, followed by a quiz...which we won with Adam and Karen..(Hi you 2) On Mondays Jenny does a free meal for guests who have stayed there...thank you jenny and Gregori...we had a wonderful time.Stunning views  and plenty of places to visit...we went to Dragaroti caves, Mellisani lake, Rombola winery(buy it at the airport...its cheaper) St Gerasimos monastery (paintings on ceiling are beautiful) OOOOOHHHHHHH just GO and ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!!We loved Kefalonia and the Maria Anna!!!!!

Assos - (Resorts on Kefalonia)

Kate W          10/10

We visited Assos...well what can you say? It is BEAUTIFUL. The drive down to the village is pretty..lots of hairpin bends! We walked up to the castle, they are tiling the road so you couldnt take the car- and there is an old car parked across the road at the bottom to stop you anyway! We had lunch at a waterside taverna...absolute bliss. Be prepared to STAND AND DELIVER if you visit the public loo

Unfortunately we visited on Saturday and it was closed( check b4 you go). But although we didnt get into the castle, we went up to the locked gate and had fantastic views( and played with a lizard!). The village is beautiful with small arty shops and cafes. We enjoyed all this even though we didnt get to see the castle....next time...next time

Casa de Blue Restaurant - (Restaurants in Lourdas)

I had read the comments about this place but did not visit as it was always empty when we passed, which is not always a good sign. Spoke to 3 people, 2 of which had meatballs which were still frozen!!!! and another who was sick after eating there. Never saw anyone who tried to pull us in...always empty whatever time  you passed.Told that husband now owns taverna across the road? not sure of name but is next to CBR care hire
