We had no delays from Birmingham to Kefalonia, the first two weeks of July. Airport rep's were fine. Transfer was OK, only going to Lassi. However as we were staying up a hill the bus dropped us and our cases at the bottom, and we were told to wait for the arranged taxi to come. One did come soon after, but that doesn't help when there are 10 people to take up. We ended up waiting for the taxi to come back, which may have only been 10 minutes, but in that heat,when you first arrive, we could do without. Our Rep was fine, I think he was called Barry, and seemed to have a good knowledge of the island. We came to Kefalonia last year and stayed at the four star Mediteranee, so it is unfair to comment on the accomodation in comparison, as it was basic, but the price reflected that.
Flight : (Excel Airways)Bang on time both ways.Meals garbage,737 too small for distance.
Transfer : ok arrival,rep didn't show on return,driver confused,bit of a mess.
Accomodation : 4 people,3 single beds.Given camp bed on day 2.
Rep : Only saw her when giving out return pick up notices.Told me she had resigned.
Overall : Olympic will seem pretty poor if you are used to Thomsons,but who cares,it was hot & sunny & I was too chilled to care.
We booked 4 days before departure so had a good deal. Our Rep was first class and everything about Olympic Holidays' service cannot be faulted. You can't blame the holiday company for poor flights or less than satisfactory local meals. My wife is on holiday with Olympic as I write and we all will be using them again. You could do a lot worse! Ignore any Old Grumpies comments and enjoy your hols!
Do not use Olympic Holidays to travel anywhere. They have no regard for their customers at all. They promise the world when they want to take your money and then go back on everything they supposedly stand for when there is a problem.
They will also lie to you if it means that they can get you off the phone, do not take any crap from them and stand up for your rights.
They are the worse holiday company I have every travelled with and I would never recommend them to anyone. They have no idea about customer service and keep you holding for hours on end on the phone. Being ABTA approved means absolutely nothing becuase they still treat you like crap and get away with it!!!
Take my advise and don't use Olympic!!!!!! They also overcharge you
our holiday started badly with this company although the accomodation and the island itself made up for this. After flying in from Gatwick, my boyfriend and I were told at Kefalonia airport that our apartment had been flooded and we had been moved to alternative accomodation. The way in which this information was given to us at the airport was extremely poor. We were told very little about the situation and were told to simply get on one of the coaches and get off at our new destination. However, once the problem had been sorted four days later and we had moved back to our proper accomodation,the help we recieved from olympic was good. initial impressions count for a lot though and we were disapointed that we didnt even get an apology at the airport when we arrived.
To help a potential legal case against Olympic, I am looking for anyone who had their accomodation changed by Olympic at the last minute and had cause for complaint. Particularly if you were in Lassi around 18th May 2003 to 1 June 2003.
This is the first and last time we travel with Olympic. The flight was delayed 2.5 hours going out to Kefalonia and we were not told any reasons why and 1 hour returning to Manchester. On arrival in Argostoli the transfer should have taken 1 hour. But the rep (Lesley) didnt turn up to join the coach and the driver couldnt speak a word of English. Also he didnt know which 5 apartments he was going to in Katelios. So it took us 3 hours to get to our apartments Filoxenia (not recommended). During the holiday the rep did come to the apartments regularly and she was helpful enough if you wanted to know about any excursions she was arranging, but if you asked for general info so you could use the bus then she wasnt very forthcoming. All in all we were very disapointed with Olympic
very poor service from Olympic Ho;idays 2.5 hour delay out and 12 hour delay on return. Flight was with HOLA airlines from Newcastle and these delays seem to be the norm for them. No in flight entertainment. Olympic staff handled delay very badly telling us it was down to bad weather in Newcastle when there was no such thing and all other flights ok. Got put up extra night in Ireleana studios in Lassi which are very damp and smelly. This was mid may 2003.
We didnt book directly through Olympic but found them very helpful and professional. The rep (Sue) was very friendly, not pushy atall and really made an effort to help in every way. We missed the welcome meeting, but still recieved details of everything we missed through the door of our apartment which was nice. She was able to answer any queries we had and organize us to get to the airport at the right time and things (we hired a car so had to make our own way to the airport, but she was very helpful in advising us of when to get there etc)
There were reps waiting at the airport for us to make sure we got through the terminal and onto our plane safely as well.
I would book with them again, i think they were excellent.
Booked the holiday on the net with a good saving on the brochure price which made it even better value. The reps were very helpful without being intrusive and the transfers were swiftly and efficiently done. We flew on their own airline Excel Air which was on time and the in flight service is good. The food is vile but what else is new! Olympic seem to be the cheapest and on this experience I couldn't fault them. The brochure does not lie or raise expectations; if anything they sell themselves a little short
we had a great holiday. our rep vicky was the best and olympic were great the island of kefalonia is great and the apaertments were average considering greece is basic anyway. our only complaint was the pool well it looked more like a pond than anything else. it was green and you could just see 1m deep. this was at efeftheria apartments and if you want to book for the pool well don't but the rest was great.
Our accomodation was excellent and in a good spot. The transfer was smooth and we soon reached our destination. Our rep Victoria was very friendly and helpful with questions we had. We liked the way she told us of the trips and visits but didn't make you feel you had to go on any. Very good and would recommend Olympic to anyone thinking of going to Greece
Fantastic.Kelly the rep was very professional new all the places to visit without being pushy.The best rep we have had for years. Olympic you should give her a gold medal....We will be back.
They seem to be a little cheaper than other operators and they provide a good service. The rep, Cathy, was helpful and not anxious to flog you all their (competitive) tours and deals which was refreshing.

The reps were really helpful right from the start. We could always get in touch with her. The flights were great, we took off on time going and were 40mins early coming back! The transfer coach was also air conditioned and only 15mins. Our apartment was very basic and we had a problem with the fridge leaking becasue someone had turned it off but it was all sorted out. I would recommend them and travel with them again. It was also cheap compared to the other tour operators!
We got a good deal through Olympic considering we booked earlier than usual and were impressed with their service.Kelly, the rep, was excellent, very professional and not pushy like others we have encountered.The flights both ways were ahead of schedule and we managed to get extra legroom on the outward journey.Would use the company again.
We stayed at the Vialatos studios which are well described in their brochure, and all the other accomodation we saw seemed of a good standard. The flights with Excel airways were early on outward and return and the transfers were smooth and quick. We booked through the easy to use website. The star of their company, however, is their 2002 rep Kelly who is genuinely enthusiatic about her job and realises the importance of the guests having the best time possible - nothing seems too much trouble. Their administation seems efficient also.
