Crystal Palace is to be found an eight minute walk down the Trapezaki road from the junction opposite Spiros Taverna in Vlachata/ Lourdas. It is one Taverna we never miss when visiting Lourdas.
Very good Greek menu, lovely quiet position. The Family are very friendly and the food and service excellent.

Well, i have mixed views on this place.

The first time in 2003 it was flying ant season when we ate here and so obviously it wasnt a pleasant experience what with insects in your food. However 3 years later in 2006 I went again and without the flying ants the place is FANTASTIC! The food was amazing and the hosts were kind hearted and welcoming.
I'm going to Lourdas again in August and will be eating at CP more than once.

Second visit of year. Food again very good - even though menu limited at very end of season.  Excellent grilled Pork and Lamb (yes they are Greek !) but be warned you need to ask for a small portion if your appetite is less than huge.( 5 or 6 lamb chops)

Elaine K  (13 September 2006)

We went to this restaurant a couple of times.  Food and service was excellent on both occasions.  Staff were very friendly.

I'll happily eat my words from last year.  Went several times in May - and will return several times in September.  Food each time very good, and service unrecognisably different from last year - we obviously just hit a bad night.

Enjoyed additional delight of Efthimios playing his bazooki - far better than taped music

We ate here on our last day and really wished we had tried it earlier! The food was excellent and reasonably priced. Staff were friendly and helpful. Also the menu told you which items were frozen which most of the other restaurants didn't. PS Try the Kefalonian meat pie here.

We only ate at the Crystal Palace once but the food was good.  It's not in a very exciting position but had a nice evening.  Would go back.

Having read the reviews on this site we felt we had to try this place out - we ended up eating there at least 4 times!!!

The owner was lovely and really friendly and the food was good old home cooking!
I really recommend the meatballs and the beef stifado!

We made mistake of arriving just before a party of eight. We were virtually ignored until they had been served, and even then our wine and bread were not received until after the mediocre meal.

Once was more than enough

One of my favourite restaurants in Lourdas. We ate there for dinner last week.

Friendly staff and great food, the most authentically Greek menu  you will find in the village.
Most dishes are fresh same day, those that were not fresh (ie frozen) were indicated on the menu, which was  certainly not the case in some of the other places we ate at.
Good value for money and  great atmosphere, well worth walking a little further for.

We came across the Crystal Palace by accident (after being told by our Rep that it didnt exist!!!) and it was great - the Spaghetti Marinara was to die for!! Yum Yum!!   Lovely and peaceful location.    Food was great and so was the service.  Very friendly. Thoroughly recommend.

SIMPLY THE BEST. If you are looking for a spotless kitchen authentic greek food a beautiful view this is the place for you.

The Crystal Palace is ab fab. We ate here every evening of our holiday. It is run by mum and dad and two children Gerasimina and Timmy who are a credit to their mum and dad.

Beautifully served food lots of laughs great atmosphere and if you ask Timmy nicely he will play some bousuki for you. Timmys mum will make you a dish if you ask her to the night before she will have it specially made for you. Just ask.

Gerasimina does all the work Timmy just fools around although he is trying to learn the trade a Funny Man. Dad also helps in the kitchen they really know how to make you feel welcome.

If you go give my regards I can assure you will love it as much as we did and it will not break the bank. Three can eat for 30 euros around £20 at the moment. House wine is also excellent.

Ate once at the restaurent during my stay - food was very good, but felt that the service could have been better, perhaps it was an off day, as they didn't seem too pleased to see us with our kids. From the previous comments, i would still recommend for a good meal. and some lovely views downs to the coast line.

David H  (26 August 2003)

Although my wife and I ate out at several tavernas at lunch and evening times the Crystal Palace was our favourite. All the staff were really pleased to see you and made you feel most welcome even when it was really busy. The food be it starters or main course was always delivered with a smile and always prompt. We would like to have given it all excellent but due to the Euro..........

Kate W  (22 August 2003)

Excellent food, great service, try the fried squid for starters really divine mmmmmmmm

Michelle P  (19 August 2003)

Lovely food, we had lunch on the way to Trapezaki beach... we were walking so it was a good stop-off point. Wonderful zucchini and very friendly service.

Ellaina T  (04 August 2003)

The Crystal Palace is fabulous! We stayed at the Afrato Apartments and the walk from there is only about 10 minutes. The food is brill and the service is great. The first time we went was for lunch, we had a kind of tapas meal with stuffed tomatoes, fried eggplants and courgettes and mushrooms a la creme. The best part of both meals were the little cheese pies they are absolutly brilliant! As we are all vegetarian the second time we went, in the evening, we asked what they did for vegetarians as some of the things we didnt understand (they were in greek) the waiter said he could do a vegetarian platter so my dad had that, when it came there was fried courgettes, butter beans, stuffed vine leaves and a kind of vegetable rice thing, he said it was great. Whether you are a vegetarian or not this restaurant is definatly the best place you could eat! Try the Kefalonian wine it is fab!

John B  (26 July 2003)

We tried this place on our first night because it was only 10 minutes walk from our studios { sunset studios }
The food was good, my wife and I both had the squid to start, my wife had the grilled prawns and I had the Kefalonian Meat Pie. The only downer being the normal inflated restaurant price of the local wine.
{ Robola } All in all a nice little restaurant, which really deserves more custom.

Terry & margaret B  (25 July 2003)

We ate here 7 out of our 14 days(first night starter of home made sausage main course 5 lamb chops followed by pistachio ice cream with sparkler) and were never disappointed the food was excellentwith a wide and varied menu. The staff were always friendly and the welcome given to to customers by Kefalonia's own Danny Devito (Gerry) was always warm and welcoming, with him always spending time to talk to you.
Situated between Lourdas & Trapezaki with lovely views across to Zante and along the coast fron the terrace.

Pete R  (23 July 2003)

We ate here once while we had a car, as it was quite far from our apartments. The service was very good and the restaurant was spotlessly clean. We had moussaka and souvelaki and both were among the best in the resort.
