Mystic Gusto

Restaurants in Lassi

This used to be The Olive Press. Unfortunately, this new establishment was the worst meal and evening we encountered on our holiday. The service was very, very slow and the restuarant only had half a dozen customers that evening. The food was poor which is a shame given the surroundings. There are better eating houses elsewhere in Lassi, and considering the price we paid for what we had, we would not recommend this restuarant. Very disappointing.

Wendy and i spent every nite at mystic gusto over 4 years of travelling to Kefelonia All i can say is that u are welcolmed like family coming home .We had some very late and very drunk nites there over the 4 years we went there .Lewis is one of the best waiters and flirts on the island but he has a wonderful outgoing personallty. The two girls are second to none and the wine and singing just flow.

Remember if u ever visit mystic gusto u must sing your heart out and leave in the early hours with Lewis turning the lights out

Thank you all for a wonderfull 4 years may be see you all again one day

The only thing i can fault them on is that we landed in Kefelonia at 2120 and we had to wait till 2125 for our first jug of wine and the girls and Lewis all hugged us and kissed us as we arrived and asked us what took us so long

Our first time in Kefalonia we spent 3 visits here and found the food and staff wonderful, the entertainment was really good fun I did the Greek dancing on the 1st visit with lots of wine to accompany it and woke up next morning like a cripple but it was worth it I had Mothers meatballs with rice and garnish which was great and next time had Veal Stamna which just as good. We could not fault the place and would reccomend you try it, you wont be dissapointed. Kev & Pearl

Went to Mystic Gusto 3 times during our stay this year.  One the whole food was good, although sometimes the service could have been a bit better. Only complaint I had was with the Veal Stamna which was great the first time but when I had it on our third visit it was cold at the bottom!

Wonderful food, Chicken Robola was gorgeous.  I celebrated my 40th birthday in there and had a wonderful night, the singer sang "Happy Birthday" to me and presented me with a cake complete with sparkler! Very friendly people.

We avoided catching the greek singer's eye as she plied the tables but, apart from that, really great food, good ambience, can't fault it!

Wow what a friendly place. Meals value for money. The staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. Best restaurant in Lassi by far!

Next time you are in Lassi try them.

Good standard of food, particularly the chicken in lemon sauce. Cheapest place we ate in. Very roomy. Waiting staff very attentive even when they were dancing. Enterainment mixed but even the worst singers provided some laughs. Worthy of several visits during our stay and convenient for anyone staying at the Makris Gialis end of Lassi.

When we visited in May it could have been their first week of the season and they were very busy but after being served our first drinks and starters quite quickly, we were over an hour waiting for our main courses and then had to get the waitress's attention, as she had rushed off to deal with other customers after giving us our meals, to tell her we had no cutlery as it had been taken with the starter plates.  Food was good when it came, a good introduction to Kefalonian fare, and the entertainment kept our minds off our rumbling stomachs.  One of the waitresses did most of the dancing then went straight back to waiting tables which was impressive. It was also quite entertaining watching the waiters running up and down the steps from the teired level tables to the kitchen - it gave the impression things were being done quickly! Then at the end of the meal there was another long wait to get the bill as the waitress seemed to be very tied up with queries at other tables.  My advice is don't go there feeling too hungry on a busy night as you may have a long wait for your food!

The Olive Press in Lassi is no more. We went to book for our wedding anniversary and found it had moved to a new property next to the airport. There is a restaurant at the old premises. It is called the Mystic Gusto!! We gave it a miss and headed for Argostoli because we hated the name - though perhaps the food was good.

WE really enjoyed both times we went her. the food was tasty and generous. the staff were run off thier feet but still cheerful and attentive. the setting is very rustic greece set over small terrices containing onnly 3 or 4 tables so very cosy and intermate. the roof is a conopy of vines and flowers and so are the walls. very beatutiful - kind of like you would imagine sitting on the patio of a greek persons house would be like. chunky pine furniture and wicker chairs you couldnt get more down to earth or back to nature if you tried. Food was lovely especially the stiffado but bare in mind that this place is trying to be traditionally greek so they use lots of oil and herbs, which might not be to the taste of some english people who favour Mc Donalds as an evening out lol! The comments by the Annonomous person below are so right, the waing staff do work very hard long hours so do them a favour - say hello, good bye and thank you in greek and leave a fair tip they will so apprishiate it and you can afford to be cheerful and generous your on holiday!

Great place - fantastic setting amongst the trees. Well priced - try the sea bream!

Carrie A

Very pretty setting. a good choice and nice food too, excellent souvlaki.
(Keith - the toilets are round the back of the bar, you have to go through the garden to reach them!)

A lovely place to eat. It gets very busy but this does not detract from the quality of food we received. We enjoyed the greek dancing the first evening we went there and our last night on Kefalonia we enjoyed the basouki music. The staff work very hard and are always smiling and running about with their trays stacked with food and drink.
Lovely.

Nice setting
Very Average Service
Reasonable if limited menu (especially for children's meals)
Cheese Pie awful!
Worth a visit for the location/setting.
