What a fab little hotel, clean rooms, nice seaview balconies, fridge in the room and permanent hot water for your showers! The pool and pool bar is a great little place to be day or night, serving good food at any time and the breakfast here is good. Lana is a fantastic hostess and basically runs the hotel. The hotel is in a good location close to three supermarkets, two bars and about eight restaurants at the top of Lourdas. The trek to the beaches downhill is ok but coming back is a bit of a struggle even for the fittest in the blazing sunshine! On the road down from the hotel is the goat-track which takes you the prettiest and most scenic route to the beach as it does provide a little shade and a natural spring at the top to drink once you've arrived there! I would definetly go back to Maria Anna. Everywhere/everyone gets bad press at one time or another so it's not unusual to hear bad things after all everyones opinions are different. Also, The management at the hotel has changed since last year. Excel airways are fine so are Olympic, however we had little contact with the rep as we didn't want to do any tours etc. Only one word of warning, for your flight home, when you arrive at the airport, we had to queue to check in, outside the airport, in the blazing sunshine for 50 minutes as the airport is tiny!!
Really good and well priced cocktails, would recommend it as it has good views as well.
Have just got back and it's a lovely long beach, it is shingle and sand but there are other sandy beaches within walking distance from the resort of Lourdas. The water is clear and the sea is like a mill-pond. The road behind is not a proper road, it is the main road but more of a wider dirt track!! It wasn't busy when we were there, it would probably be busier in the next few months but don't let it put you off as the road only runs past part of the beach so if you want a quiet spot, just move down the beach a bit. There are no watersports on the beach which makes it quieter.
We went on the 20th June and everyday was cloudfree, no rain, just pure sunshine! Each day got hotter and hotter so walking to the beaches and back was just about bearable. I wouldn't like to go in July as it would be too hot.
A lovely quite, pretty resort with everything you need. There are no nightclubs but bars/restaurants & supermarkets. A great place to go for a relaxing holiday and the locals make you feel extremely welcome.
Good food and a good selection. The staff are friendly and make you very welcome. One of the more expensive restaurants.
Good food but the menu is very restricted, not a great selection. We went for lunch and the pasta is good. Great views over the sea.
Really good food and well priced, however the staff are not at all friendly and the service is slow. You also have to go to the till and wait to pay, they didn't do bills at your table.
I was very disapointed with the food, I had carbonara and in the sauce was big chunks of garlic and white wine, rather untasty and not at all what was expected. Well priced though and good views.
A good choice of menu and excellant pizza. The service is very good. The only down point is that as it is out in the open, there are no
Good flight and edible food with Excel airways. Both flights went on time, transfers were in air conditioned coaches and the accomodation for the price was fantastic, Maria Anna in Lourdas. Would go with Olympic again.
