Pelagos Apartments - (Accommodation in Skala)

click to enlargeclick to enlargeclick to enlargeWe stayed at the Pelagos Apartments Skala for a week from 3rd August 2008. The apartments are everything you need for a self catering holiday. The rooms are cleaned daily (except 1 day in the week) and if any problems arise, they are soon resolved. Air conditioning is available (we paid 5 euros per day) which was worth it as it was extremely hot. The pool area is lovely and clean and you can get drinks and snacks from the poolside bar. The owners have a BBQ on a Thursday were there is plenty of food and greek dancing from the 2 sisters who help to run the place. Walking to the town centre is about 10minutes away where you will find numerous bars, restaurants, gift shops and a few supermarkets. We went to the Siroco restaurant every morning for a full English breakfast (5.50 euros) and you get the works. To try gyros, go to the Kebab House (its well worth the money) and for cheap drinks go to Nero (they do a loyalty card system, for every full card you get a free drink), but the drinks are cheap anyway and the atmosphere is great.

Mounda beach is worth a try but would advise to get a taxi as it took us 50 minutes to walk from the apartments.
Overall, our stay at the Pelagos Apartments was brilliant and would stay there again if we ever go back to Skala.

Nero - (Bars in Skala)

Jon G          10/10

Just returned from a great week in Skala. Heard about the Nero bar from the Just Kefalonia forum and couldn't recommend this place any higher. Alan (the owner of the bar) and the girls made us feel very welcome throughout our stay. We went almost every night. The drinks are the cheapest around, music to suit all ages and the atmosphere is great. You wont get a warmer welcome.
