Paradise Studios - (Accommodation in Svoronata)

Annemarie

We are staying at the paradise in september and would like to know if there are any mini markets near by? Do they have a good range of products as we will have our baby with us who will be 11 months old and I am thinking about nappies etc........? We also have an 8 year old and are wondering if it is child friendly? Any gardens? Childrens pool? Look forward to recieving any comments. many thanks.

The paradise studio's were just what we were looking for in accommodation, it was clean and quiet apart from the planes going and coming which was great to watch! Irene, Peter, Andreos and big and little Madelane are all fantastic people who are very nice and friendly. The couple of downfalls are if you have booked a 1 bedroomed apartment you will be disapointed as there are none! The rooms actually have a mezzanine level which was very dangerous if you have small children. The supermarkets are within walking distance but are down a long, stoney dirt road, not very good for buggies! If you have a baby make sure you take plenty of nappies as pampers cost anything from 12 euro's, yes I did say 12!! All in all I would give paradise 8/10! good ho;ilday all around.

Very nice place for a drink, they sell john smiths there! Owners are very nice and loved to kiss my baby's feet every time we went! Went one night for a meal and they were very short staffed so we had to wait ages for our meal that was average when it arrived! the entertainment was very good, gave us a good laugh. Only downside was lots of cats, ok if you like that sort of thing though.

waiter was very rude,he stood at head of our table and called our meals out and made us pass them along to each other! my mother in law burnt her hand on a pizza plate!

Had really good lamb kleftiko, my partner had chicken fillet and my little girl had a childrens meal, i ordered some mashed potato for the baby and the waiter asked if he could bring this first so the baby wasn't hungry!! really good service and lovely food but don't order onion rings unless you're starving as you get loads!

Ionio Restaurant - (Restaurants in Lassi)

We had a lovely meal here,I had chicken souvlaki(yummy) and my mother in law had the chef's salad but only managed half of it as there was so much! The waiter was fab and kept coming over to tickle my baby and amuse my little girl. Best strawberry milkshakes ever are served here. The service was prompt, the waiter was funny and helpful, the food was top class and the prices were good too. 8/10!

Svoronata - (Resorts in Kefalonia)

We stayed at the villa paradise in svoronata and really enjoyed it.The nearest supermarket is along a stony winding road which can be hard in flip flops pushing a pushchair and carrying shopping! we went to 2 of the 3 nearby beaches- Avithos was great, we walked it from paradise it took around an hour but was worth it, there is also a couple of nice restarants down there, we found Ammes beach easier to get to and although there was a sand hill to slide down on the beach! we found it quite safe for our children, and we loved watching the planes fly right over our heads whilst we swam in the sea! This is mainly sunday's and tuesday's (airport day). 2 places to eat near this beach,Ammes was really good, best food we had in 2 weeks, best Lamb Kleftiko on Kefalonia! Also a place which i think is called Koutapas next door to Ammes where my brother in law had his wedding reception after getting married in Argosoli! The service was good and the food was ok. If you fancy a trip to Argostoli most bar owners, apartment owners will call a taxi for you, to go to Argostoli it cost's between 12 and 15 Euro and to Lassi only 10 Euro There is also a bus from Irinna hotel at 10.20 ish! which is 1.50 Euro. Make sure you take absolutley every thing needed for a baby as the prices of things are mad, 12 Euro for pampers! 36 Euro for shorts and t.shirt set for a baby!Which I didn't buy even though my suitcase was missing for 2 days with all the baby's clothes in!!! Make sure you pack a few things in each case..........Just in case!Would definatley recommend svoronata for a nice, quiet, relaxing holiday.
