Petani Beach - (Beaches in Kefalonia)

Colin T          8/10

click to enlarge petani is a beautiful looking beach from above. few tight corners going down. beach is mainly pebbly, sandy as you first go on, sea gets deep rather quick. not for very young or infirm. went in mid july, hot sun, blue skies, water bit cooler than we expected. spoilt by strong winds. parosels flying everywhere. gets very busy. couple of tavernas, toilets ok.

first time we went to katelios, we both loved  the place. quite suprised. never been to a more quiet and peaceful place on kefalonia. prob to quiet for most. not the best sandy beach , but very shallow and warm clear sea. perfect for the young and infirm. tavernas over looking sea front, easy parking. to chill out for the day, you wont find a better place.

Lassi Resort - (Resorts in Kefalonia)

click to enlarge click to enlarge click to enlarge click to enlarge my third visit to lassi, stayed each time at the lorenzo hotel. love the resort. plenty of tavernas each side of the main road which runs through the town. no noisy night clubs or single sex groups. main beaches mainly clean sand and shallow warm sea. some music blastin out from beach bar at far end to where we settled. first week lovely and calm, second week more wind, sea bit rough for swimming. lovely taverna over looking main beach, poor little cats always after food. didnt bother us, just looking up hopefully.

ate there several times this year, couldnt fault it. little wait one eve for service but it was packed. go on a wed night, greek musicans play live. food was good, waiters all friendly, especially john, the aussie in the picture. used to favour tratas, but think sirtaki is as good if not better now.

Trata Restaurant - (Restaurants in Lassi)

on previous visits to lassi, tratas was our favourite place to dine.warm welcome from pedros, lovely fella, other waiters rushing around bit sweaty, not so friendly. food good, recommend the red snapper fillet. clean and airy restraunt but lacking that greek atmosphere. the owner couldnt be bothered to say good night even though he knew us. free drink at the end of the night, not sure what it was ! we d go back but maybe not our first choice any more.

third time at lorenzo. cant fault it apart from no fridge in rooms and a/c is extra. oh and breakfast is very basic and never changes. very friendly , helpful staff. young girl in pool bar remembered my ugly mug from two yrs ago. clean basic rooms. had lovely room over looking pool and sea this year. enjoyed those sun sets. hotels set in a quite location, not far from main beaches and tavernas. avoid misery guts in the supermarket near the hotel, turn right and use the one on the bend, bout half a mile  away very friendly staff. cant wait to return .
