We have been going to Kefalonia for many years and discovered Spiros in 2007.
The welcome we got the first time made for a lovely evening and we return every year when visiting Kefalonia.
The atmosphere is always busy but the staff find time to chat and teach a little bit of Greek.
The food is tasty and Spiros offers a good range of Greek dishes.
The only slight fault I have ever found was that the filo was slightly soggy with the Kefalonian meat pie. I suspect it was because it had been made a little earlier in the day.
That was not a complaint as the taste was superb.
Try Spiros, great food and service, friendly people and a must visit if staying in Vlachata and Lourdas.

Great views from the balcony and in a quiet location but near The main street with a good choice of Shops and Tavernas. Elias who owns the apartments is a really nice and helpful guy.
The apartment was big enough and had comfortable beds, air conditioning and a simple kitchen area with a fridge. Two shady sitting areas and a parking area under some trees.
If you want a good location and a peaceful stay then I think these apartments are a good choice.

We love this bar and spend some time most evenings having a cool beer and talking. Very friendly family and a great position for the beach. Look forward to a few Evenings there June and July 2011

Crystal Palace is to be found an eight minute walk down the Trapezaki road from the junction opposite Spiros Taverna in Vlachata/ Lourdas. It is one Taverna we never miss when visiting Lourdas.
Very good Greek menu, lovely quiet position. The Family are very friendly and the food and service excellent.

Sadly the Libra is closed this season (2011) and the owners a working elsewhere.
The food and hospitality were good. They worked hard at the business and were open in the winter months. Hope to see them back next year.

We stayed at the Villa Mare again in June 2010.
The position is superb overlooking the beach but set back enough to be peaceful.
Lovely pool just behind the Apartments which is great for reading and long cooling swims.
Gerry the owner is an excellent host and very welcoming and helpful.
Rooms are a good size and have everything that you could want for an occasional meal.
Shower room fine and clean and the beds were comfortable.
Everything along Lourdas beach front is within an easy walk.
Look forward to our next holiday and my Birthday there in June 2011.

Lithero Fish taverna is one of our favourite places to eat.
The family that own it catch many of the fish themselves and their boat is moored right next to the taverna. The fresh fish menu may be small as it depends on what they have caught but what beautiful fresh fish. Good Greek menu, with plenty of well cooked traditional dishes.
Wonderful view directly over the sea. The meals are shared in the summer with the resident swallows that nest just above diners heads.
Always an enjoyable meal and a good place to watch the night descend.
