Just returned from a week's holiday at the Silo Apartments in Lassi, Maria the owner was very wecoming, the apartment were clean and large, we were a party of nine, with three young boys, who absolutly loved the two pools, snacks at the bar were good but a bit expensive, but every where in Lassi was expensive, especially the airport, take snacks with you. Beaches were lovely, everywere was quiet even at the end of May, which suited us. Not really suitable for teenager, as not a lot to do in the night. My only crititism is the food on the strip was all very much the same, went for breakfast on the first day at the Chinese and it was swimming in grease, and at 6 euro per person it was expensive, we managed to find a lovely resteraunt on the last night, (it always happens on the last night) it was called Phedras. Well worth a visit. Some our our party wents on the bus tour to Mellassini Caves, they said the views were breathtaking, just a word of warning , if you are in a wheelchair (as I am) it is totally unsuitable, loads and loads of steps. I am glad I have visit Kefalonia, but a bit to hilly for my needs, lucky I had my husband and two strapping lads with me to push my up the hills. Silo Apartments are great for couples and young families, would love to go back but to hilly.
Nine of us went to Butlers House, four of us ordered the Lamb Kleftico, the vegetables( which were very few) were steaming hot but the lamb, which was just a large bone with a little meat on it was freezing cold, twice we had to send them back to be heated thoroughly, very small portions still felt hungry afterwards, also very chaotic, waiters running everywhere.
We found this resteraunt on our last night in Lassi, thank goodness we had one excellent meal before we came home, food was brilliant, service first class.
I am in a wheelchair, would I be able to get onboard captain vangelis boat in scala, and is ithica suitable for a wheelchair user. Thank you.
