Marketos Studios - (Accommodation in Svoronata)

David W

We stayed for a week in September. All the other comments about the apartments are absolutely accurate. One important point missed is that each apartment has its own water heater, so you are never short of hot water. Also ask Voula to arrange car hire, you will save money!

Porto Helis Restaurant - (Restaurants in Svoronata)

David W

By far the most extensive menu in Svoronata and some of the lowest prices without lowering of quality. You might not be a karioke person but the songs are more varied than any other I have ever heard. Also it round the corner from the main eating area. Try the shrimp saganaki it is a delight.

Returned for our second year. Nothing has changed! PLEASE read my comments from 2003. This year we had a three bed apartment with the most amazing spiral staircase to the bed room. Given the night time hospitality from Voula or Crazy George it should have some kind of restraining devise! Voula is going alone next year, I wish her well and will return if I can find a flight. Any one know how to get a flight from Manchester in Sept? ( Excelair have stopped by then)

Fiat Seicento - (Hire Cars in Kefalonia)

Hired through Voula at Marketos at Sagitarrius. Good value. Everything powered and Air con. Perfect for an island at 80degrees and a hairpin bend every 200 metres, not including the gradients.

Dum Spiros Spero - (Restaurants in Svoronata)

Much the same as last year but on average 14 euros ( £10) more expensive than Fois and lower quality

Excellent value . Perfect setting. OK you have to walk a bit. The beef stefado is out of this world.

Patritcia - (Restaurants in Lourdas)

David W  (08 October 2005)

We turned up at Lourdas by car and looked where to eat for lunch. " Traditional Greek food" seemed like a good idea. The simplest lunch was truly amazing. " Grilled Feta" ( and chips!)

The compulsory bread was toasted and drizzled with olive oil and served with a pot of Marie-rose  dip.
The Feta was topped with Onion and   Red pepper and the Olive oil dressing  had garlic. Even the half kilo of red wine was light and fruity  We will certainly go back. David and Carol Wright !5th. sept. 2005.

Another perfect week at Marketos. Voula and family just cannot do enough to make your holiday enjoyable. Th Wednesday Greek night is always a highlight. I'm not too sure about the"supersports" channel that let me suffer tha agony of England saving the last test! But this is yet one more special treat at Marketos. We will certainly return.
