So Simple - (Bars in Lassi)

Drinks in So Simple were dreadful - My friend and I ordered Vodka and Cokes that had barely any alcohol. Same with the cocktails. This seems to be common practice around the "younger" bars in Cephalonia - we went to a few bars in the main sq. in Argostoli and same thing happened (especially in Central Cafe - total rip off!) Stick to beer. Disco in S.S. hilarious. Full of pre-pubescent Greek males throwing shapes. However DJ on Wed. has lots of Indie stuff if you ask nicely.

Agia Efimia Resort - (Resorts in Kefalonia)

Our favourite spot on the Island. Stayed 1 night in the Boulevard Pyllaros Hotel which has a beautiful view of the harbour. However, breakfast very mean considering a room is 80 euro p.n. Just toast and coffee! Fabulous bar above Finikes restaurant. V. quiet when we were there but great cocktails made with good amounts of alcohol (badly needed after our experiences with scabby drinks in Argostoli!) Well worth basing yourself here if you've a car.

Lassi Resort - (Resorts in Kefalonia)

R.E. Lisa Loftus and Catherine Antoniou,
Hi just got back from a week in Lassi. A few negative things that you might like to know:
As Dubliners used to outrageous prices at home, we were HORRIFIED at the price of food in the local supermarkets. Dublin is expensive, but food here was 2 times the price again! Being in the Eurozone, we could compare directly. It's as cheap to eat out, and again that is REALLY expensive compared to other islands (this goes for the whole of Cephalonia). However, there is a LIDL supermarket on the way into Argostoli on the road the local bus takes...didnt go but it's surely cheaper. Lassi has beautiful beaches, but is pretty charmless aside from that. OK if you want to lie on the beach all day, but otherwise, hire a car or get the bus and visit Agia Efimia and Fiskardo etc. Fiskardo outrageous for food (14 euro for an english breakfast!!!) but theres a nice taverna on its own on the high corner of the road going away from the far side of the village where you can relax with a beer and swim off their little jetty (sorry cant remember the name but it's painted blue with blue umbrellas). We had a lovely afternoon there just having a beer somewhere more scenic. Bus service fine but be warned...they leave 10 minutes early when returning to Argostoli!!! We were nearly stranded twice. Argostoli much more atmospheric to have dinner, espec. Captains Table (by the harbour). Wonderful waiters and food. Good place for snacks in Argostoli is the Bell Tower cafe (cheapest we found and nice outdoor seating). If you need more info, let me know!
