Aug 2011-We booked this as a lovely break for the two of us without the kids. Unfortunately my other half couldn't go due to last minute work commitments. So with trepidation, i decided to go alone on holiday for the first time ever! Needless to say my concerns were completely extinguished on arrival. The transfer is more like 5 minutes than 20, which is great. i then met Voula......this woman is amazing! There is no other word to describe her. From the moment i arrived she mad me feel welcome and comfortable and at ease. Dispelling all my fears. The first thing she did was pour me a drink, which calmed my nerves. Her daughter Esme is great to chat too and funny. If you ever have the pleasure of staying with Voula and her lovely family, trust me, it is one holiday you will always remember. I am going to go back next year and take my 7 year old son with me. I caught the local bus to Argostoli, which cost 1.60 Euros. The 15minute journey took me through Lassi. When i arrived in Argostoli, i was amazed at the number of coffee shops! The harbour was so beautiful, the shops are varied, which was nice and made a change to the usual tourist shops that sell tat. Though there were a few of these, the number was relatively small. The last thing i should mention, i usually take cleaning wipes when i go on holiday (as i like to make sure things are 'really' clean), i never even opened the packet!! Spotless apartments! My husband Richard and I spent another fantastic two weeks at the Marketos back in June. This was our fourth visit and yet again we can't fault the fantastic hospitality of Voula and her smashing family. Barbecue night was great with wonderful food and really good company. Once again we made some new friends, who we hope to met up with again. Can't wait until we can make another return trip. thank you Voula, Makis, Nicky and all the family. We returned from Kephelonia on Thursday 23 June 2011, having spent a wonderful 2 weeks staying at the Marketos apartments.
Voula and family could not have been more hospitable. My wife and I have never experienced a holiday
where the hostess has been so overwhelmingly concerned with the comfort, wellbeing, and welfare of her guests.
Not only is Voula the owner, she is the cook, barmaid, and cleaner. She rushes around keeping the
apartments in an immaculate condition. The pool and bar area being simmilarly kept.
The family's regular BBQ's are something to behold, ending up with Voula trying to teach the guests
the art of Greek dancing (in my case, unsuccesfully). On these occassions all of Voulas family sit
down with the guests to eat and everyone has a great time. With Dennis providing a very eclectic mix of music. On the rare occassion when Voula is not behind the bar, then daughter Ezme steps in to provide an equally proffessional and friendly service. Well done Ezme, and good luck for the exam on Sunday.
Finally, if you need to know anything, or need something (like car hire etc.) then no one knows more than Voula. We would highly recommend Marketos Appartments, and will be returning to enjoy the hospitality

We stayed at Marketos Apartments for a week at the end of July. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel so welcome. There aren't many places where you can go from the airport to the pool (with a beer ) in 30 minutes! The surroundings are peaceful, nice & very clean apartments, lovely pool and great food!
We shall be back next year for more of the same.
Thank you to Voula and all her family for making our holiday fantastic.

We stayed here for the second time in September 2009 - absolutely lovely apartments, very clean, with beautiful gardens. The lemon trees around the pool and the scent of jasmine in the evenings are just wonderful, and Voula and family are so friendly and kind - we will be back!

 It is difficult to find different words to describe a holiday with Voula and family. The appartments are spotless.The location is by the main road ( so easy access) but which cannot be said to be busy. The rear by the pool is rural. A view over olive trees, lemon trees and vines, with the occasional plane and is south facing. So, glorious sunshine all day.
The marketos family are most welcoming. The pool bar is open all day and at night it is a wonderfull environment for an relaxing drink. Voula's prices will beat any bar in the area, and no long walk back.
With luck you will also enjoy a party night!  We have stayed at these appartments for a number of years and look forward to returning.

 My family and I, visited and spent our vacations once again in Kefalonia and Marketos Apartments.(It is the best in all ways. Clean, beautiful, luxury,sunlight...) I just want to tell Makis, Voula, Dionisis, Kostas and Smaragda, thanks for your hospitality, thanks for your wonderful evenings with laughing and gossiping beside the pool, you are the best. I will see you next summer. |

Just arrived back from yet another wonderful holiday at the Marketos studios. Cannot begin to tell anyone who is reading this just how wonderful the studios, and especially the Marketos family, are. The only way is to visit here for yourself.
Thank you Voula and all your family for making our annual visits to Kefalonia so special. We will be back next year to spend another wonderful holiday with you.

Just back from a wonderful two weeks at the Marketos apartments. Voula and family cannot do enough to make you welcome and look after you. Many of the guests had stayed before and I dont blame them. The Apartments are very clean and comfortable. Towels changed every other day. There were plenty sunbeds (not the most comfortable though, I must admit) and the pool was great. Svronata is a lovely village with enough good restaurants and supermarkets but no tatty shops! Three wonderful beaches within 30 mins walk.I would recommend these apartments and Kefalonia to all my friends and relatives.
Thanks Voula and family for eveything and we hope to see you again sometime.

Just got back last night. we have been going to voula and mikey's for ten years and we love it better every time. Thank you for your wonderfull hospitality, as usual you have treated us like one of the family. And thank you so much mikey for the piece of olive. See you all soon.

Spent another week from June 15 to 22, 4th time staying with Voula.
Once again, a great week, everyone makes you feel so welcome.
Thanks to Voula and family for your fantastic hospitality.
It was Karens birhday while we were there, Voula and family made it a great day, BBQ was great, birthday cake was fantastic! Thank you very much.
Met some great people, who made it a great week, Nick and Tracey, John and Cath, and the Manchester crew, thank you.
