Stayed July 2006
My husband and I have stayed in Scala three times and it is one of our favourite places to visit. We were recommended the 9 Muses Hotel by a work colleague and were not disappointed. It was fabulous, the staff were very friendly and the room was spacious and clean, the beach was literally a walk across the road. We are hoping to visit again next year and will definately stay at the 9 Muses again.

Everything mentioned in the earlier comments still apply. We would reccomend this hotel without exception. Our only minor gripe was that the breakfast (we were B&B) could have been more varied given the cost of the holiday and that the Vesta Junior pool was very cold, but this may not be so much of a problem later in the season.Special mention to Athena (sic) who looked after the Vesta Junior pool bar, she was brilliant!

Booked on strength of reviews and wasnt disappointed in the slightest. Apartments and surroundings eg pools and gardens so clean and well kept. Location perfect ie across the road from the beach. Air cond high tech eg remote controlled. Large studio with adequate facilities eg kettle/toaster etc. Shower fab ie powerful and very big (unlike most showers in greece that seem to flood bathroom!) All in all couldnt fault this place. Staff very friendly and great service. You can lie on beach all day and be waited on by Mick who works for hotel - he will run backwards and forwards for you all day fetching food and drink! Cocktails lovely - happy hour from 6-8 although still 5 euros each (well you are on holiday!!) Limited bar snacks but still very nice - greek salad lovely. def recommend eating in hotel's restaurant overlooking the beach. Not that expensive and again great service. Had pasta twice. about 7 euros and rated 9/10. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Hi Claire,
Just a quick note regarding the Nine Muses pool. You couldn't wish for a more peaceful setting for a swimming pool. I have stayed at the Nine Muses several times and in fact have a fortnight booked later this year.
The road that you are referring to alongside the swimming pool is actually the driveway within the hotel grounds; it is only used by hotel guests and is very quiet.
When ever I have stayed at the Muses the majority go topless around the pool so I don't think you will feel out of place!
Go ahead.......................I don't think you'll regret it booking the Nine Muses. ![]()

The Nine Muses is a fantastic hotel. We visited in July 2006 after reading rave reviews about the place - we even got a cheap deal with First Choice so it was well worth the cost. We would pay full price to go back now we've been. The rooms were lovely with power showers and gorgeous little balconies - they even had airconditioning which in Greece is very rare. The bar area was great and the guys behind the bar did the BEST cocktails. We never found getting a sunbed a problem and just had an amazing time.

This hotel is wonderful. We had a taxi to the hotel due to the long transfer by coach. We have never had a taxi transfer before and wondered how we would be greeted on arrival at the hotel. This view is based on previous arrivals in Spain and the Canary's where they barely acknowledge you on arrival. However Parwane greeted us and she was lovely. She cheked us in no problem and showed us to our room. Everyone at this hotel is amazingly friendly. It is spotlessly clean everywhere, even the loos by the pool. The pool bar is ace, not massive menu but just enough, clean, tidy, great service and always a friendly smile. We enjoyed the Chef Salad, but 1 between 2 as they were rather large. Nine Muses was recommended to us by a friend and she really raved about it and we did think we would find something wrong with it as we are real Victor Meldrews! Probably because our last few hols have been to the Canarys for some winter sun. Nobody appears to be friendly there. But, no, we couldn't fault Nine Muses - its ace ! Definitely visit this hotel if you are a couple of any age (its mainly adults, no children and we would like to keep it that way) looking for a nice quiet peaceful holiday with a short walk to many restaurants serving good Greek food and drink.

| My wife and I have just returned from two weeks at 'Nine Muses' and found it to be quite the nicest place we have stayed in. Close proximity to the beach. Large, airy room with kitchenette and wonderful shower room. Friendly and helpful staff. Air conditioning. Very nice bar overlooking the pool. This was our sixth visit to Skala and we couldn't have chosen a better hotel. The gardens are beautiful, the architecture appealing and the whole complex spotlessly clean.
'Nine Muses' seems to attract very nice people. There were no kids monopolising the pool and we felt that all the staff were determined that we should enjoy a wonderful holiday. We will, certainly, book for next year.
