Mediterrannee Hotel
(Hotels in Lassi)

10/10 Lesley Rich (October 04, 2011)

Recently had a great holiday here, hotel always clean, chambermaids certainly kept the room clean every day, food was superb and the staff were very friendly, bar in the hotel was also very good with a great service.  Location of the hotel was absolutely great, on top of the beach and great bars.  Would definately stay here again, a superb hotel.

Well, just back after 2 weeks, as predicted everthing just average but still love the place.
Very quite in Lassi, they are really feeling the pinch car hire very slow but the result is very quite roads, like the old days and lots of fun driving on open roads in the mountains.
Food acceptable, but did drop off the 2nd week, only so much they can do with left overs.
Found that as this was our 3rd stay in 4 years, restuarant waiters a bit complacent, 1 in particular could be bloody rude.
Best thing overall has to be the beach.

Do people ever read these pages?
Well in 2008 i said i would not be returning next year- i did.
I then posted that I would not be returning- I am, July 3rd two weeks!!!!
I looked at options, but i just love the place.
Everything is costing more-everywhere, so what the hell go for it.
just hope its got a bit more life this year.

hi
I've just returned yesterday 19th July after two weeks break.
Found the whole of the island very quit and expensive.
Hotel med as usual very clean, i paid for an upgrade on the room, but found the only difference was a sea view!
Seems businesses are now feeling the reccession and looking to cut costs, again this is sadly reflected in staff as they are all on eggshells, no good for holiday makers footing the bill.

I cant see us returning to the island in the near future.

click to enlarge click to enlargeJust back from the med hotel in lassi , we stayed for a week. as usual the hotel is superb from the view from the rear of the hotel to the freindly staff, fantastic food with great choice and the spotlessly clean rooms and public areas. the only fault you could say is the lack of entertainment at the hotel, Makis and his band play once a week but there is nothing else. they could have some greek dancing once a week or a barbeque still a superb hotel with own beach yamass.

click to enlarge click to enlargeYASSOUS, MY WIFE AND I HAD A 2WEEK BREAK AT THE MED HOTEL IN MAY AND SOME REPORTS SAY THE HOTEL IS DATED, THE FOOD IS POOR. DO NOT BE PUT OFF. WE FOUND THE FOOD VERY GOOD, EXCELLENT VARIATIONS. YES THE STANDARD ROOM IS BASIC BUT IT IS OF A GOOD SIZE AND IS KEPT IMACUATELY CLEAN. THE HOTEL ITSELF IS ONA BEACH FRONT LOCATION WHICH HAS A VIEW TO DIE FOR.THE STAFF ARE SO FREINDLY AND HELPFUL AND COULD,NT DO ENOUGH FOR US. WE ARE GOING BACK FOR A WEEK MAY 2009 AS WE GOT A GOOD DEAL ON PORTLAND HOLIDAYS, I COULD,NT RESIST.
                                     YAMASS.

just returned yesterday from 2 week break.
Weather brilliant.
A little undecided on opinion of holiday overall.
Location very central
Hotel-outside dated and depressing, inside above average,
receptionists 10/10
rooms clean and all other services required intact.
Food- more than above average, good selections very well presented, waiting staff 10/10
Pool small gets crowded, early birds get sun beds.
Beach, 10/10 good access for children and non swimmers, great snorkelling.
Eating/drinking out all locations seems very high, equal to suburban London.
Just did not have that little bit of sparkle we all want on our holidays, would i return-yes,
but not next year.
JIM & ELAINE ROOM 141.

10/10 ROGER JENNINGS (February 17, 2008)
My wife and I have been going to Kefalonia for the last 20 years for the last 7 we have stayed at the Med.  It is dated and as someone once said looks like a 1960's secondary modern school.  But if anywhere else can match the welcome when you return (welcome back Mr& Mrs Jennings) I doubt very much. The staff are always the same although George at the pool has gone fishing! The views fantastic the food good what else could anyone want, maybe we might just spend our retirement there thats how much the island means to us,  Friendly people and a life out of the fast lane thank you all for the the last 20 years Roger and Val.

A Superb Hotel, friendly staff, very clean and great food.
Super views and a delightful clean beach with crystal clear waters. What more can you want?
There were 10 of us staying in this hotel as a base for my Daughters Wedding in Argostoli and we were all treated very well.
I would highly recommend this Hotel as a good base to get around the Island and i loved the idea of a lift going straight down to the beach.
5 Euros for a Taxi  into Argostoli which were waiting just outside the Hotel to take you to the Town.
In all a great time was had by all.
Kefalonia is a very pretty Island and we cant wait to return in the future.

I have stayed at this hotel 10 times since the age of 11. At 24 now, I cannot wait to return. The location is fabulous, the staff genuine and the food exceptional.

The hotel is quiet and the ideal place to relax and feel speical.

If you visit, be sure to hire a car and travel the island; it really is breathtaking.

Enjoy!!

Colin Pearson (September 06, 2006)

This isn't a 4 star hotel, as some might suggest, but it's a perfectly respectable 3 star. It's clean, has friendly staff, the plumbing works, and the public areas are well presented.

We found the beds extremely uncomfortable, however (not much give in them).
Don't get too excited about the food. We were there on half board, but ate out quite a few nights. The buffet style meals are reasonably presented, served at appropriate temperatures, and nothing runs out, but the quality is basically canteen standard, rather than what I would call "restaurant" quality.

Location by beach is excellent, and taxis can usually be found outside front door if you want to go off elsewhere.

Just returned from the most fantastic holiday my wife and I have had anywhere...and at 54 & 60 we've been around! The location couldn't be better, beside a white soft sandy beech with adjacent restaurant where, if you're half board, you can substitute lunch for the evening meal...a sacrifice too far! The evening restaurant meals  are sensational, both in variety and quality of preparation.Panos, the Maitre D,  employs naturally pleasant and cheerful, friendly staff who take a genuine delight in looking after you. The bar staff, particularly Sofia, are sincerely friendly. Everyone we talked with are going back! Some people there were on their 25th year...says it all really.Do yourself a big favour...try it!

Does anyone know if this hotel has been modernised again since 2003.. it has really good reviews but the fact it may be dated has made me doubt whether I should book to go. I'm trying to decide between this hotel and Porto Scala Village in Scala. What do people think ? We just want to be near the beach and have nice food and clean and tidy accommodation and we don't want it to be noisy!
