Brilliant Holiday -2nd June 2007 for two weeks - it rained the first week but the second week wasgreat-(note toself don't go the first week in June anymore -last year it was cold -this year cold and wet-I'm afraid next year it will snow!!!!)
This is our 4th visit to Kefalonia and 3rd year in a row to Katelios-1st time staying at The Blue Sea.
The Apartments are very clean-daily cleaning by maids-towels and bedlinen changed every 2 days.
The pool is lovely - clean but VERY DEEP-so beware.
Blue Sea have Air Con payable weekly which is a plus if your there during a heat wave.
The apartments are on the main road into Katelios but you won't be disturbed as traffic is minimal.
There are no safety deposit boxes in The Blue Sea but the Bar/Apartment manager lives on the premises giving 24 hour securityand NOTHING gets past him-he may seem to have the traditional greek laid back mannor but take time to get to know him and you'll see he has a very dry sense of humour and will accomodate you if he can (if you want special drinks or food).
The barbeque which is advertised weekly is brilliant when you can persuade the Bar Manager to organise it(its is busiest day of the week and watching him prepare is very funny).
The owner of the apartments also owns the Blue Sea Fish Restuarant in the Village and its very good.
We liked Jerrys which is across the road from Blue Sea - all types of food-breakfasts great and they do take out.
Nemisis next door is a bar with loads of activiities-very handy if the weather isn't too good-snooker, pool, board games, sky sports, etc.
We liked "Dreams" a small tavern hidden alongside St Barbaras beach-also take time to climb (mountain goat style) over the rocks at the end of the beach and there is another beautiful clean beach with shallow clear water.
Katelios is growing (I pray not too much more or its simple beauty will be spolit) and some new trendy Cocktails bars have grown up but COZY BAR is the original and the best - give it a try.
We will definately be back-this is the most chilled place in the world-we love it.

Hi Julie just thought i'd let you know i am going to Kefalonia to catch up with some old friends on the 26th Sept who for sure will know something of Makis. I will make a point of going to Katelios, although i'm not staying there ,as Makis uncle still has a house in Ratzakli. Going to call him when i arrive to say hello and i will pass on your messages. Watch this space. Regards and take care. Sue |

| We stayed at these appartments for a week.Rooms basic but they all are on the island.Pool must have been refurbed because looking at previous comments it doesnt seem the same one. This was one of the best pools ever.Agree that if you book an appartment with a pool you shouldnt have to share it with people who dont stay there. We had the same problem.People who were staying at Blue Sea were great but some who just used the pool were noisy and spoiled the quiet atmosphere. Also Stavros and family who owned the place didnt seem to appreciate that sometimes we didnt need him shouting into his moble phone every second on the day and he should keep his nosiy family at home!
Jerrys across the road had the best food nad was reasonable priced. He was a great guy who would come to your table for a chat and a drink and fill you ijn on the local gossip and tell you the best places to go.We hired a car from Michael at Venus car hire.Again he could spend enough time showing the best places and even marked them on the map.Hired a car fro 4 days for the price of 3 only 110 euros!
Would go again, but only for a week.Fab place to chill and relax

We stayed at the Blue Sea in August 2004 and thought it was fabulous despite the pool area being a little tired. The staff were great, the apartments just what you'd expect for Greece Self Catering.
We enjoyed it that much we're going back next year to get married. I would recommend it to anyone!

Becca, Blue sea is only a 5 minute flat stroll to the beach/front. The apartments are great, as is the pool, although the adjoining road does get used by tenagers on mopeds all night on the wekend./ Do chack out the in-house BBQ - v good value

| The Blue Sea was not a bad place to stay. The pool area was great even if the rest of the building looked a little tired. The rooms were clean and the sheets were changed every couple of days and cleaned daily. Spiros the owner was a horrible loud man who you could always hear when he was around. In general a good place to stay. | ||||||||||

| We have just returned from two weeks at the Blue sea apts,we found the apts to be very clean with everthing you would need for your holiday. The maids came every day except Sunday to clean or to replace towels, linen etc. The pool is fantastic, and the outside eating area a welcome shady spot from the sun. The bar is run by Maria and Athanasea who were very friendly and welcoming. Atanasea makes the loveliest omelettes ever! It was never croweded round the pool and there are plenty of sunbeds. Just a short walk into the main part of Katelios. We hired a car from Venus and it was hassle free and the guy there is very friendly. | ||||||||||
