Have stayed at Makis' Apts/houses twice. Very nice, clean, staff friendly and helpful, views from our balconies were stunning. Makis' used to do meals but I think now in 2011 he has built on more apts and only does breakfasts, I could be wrong, phone him! http://www.makisapartments.com/kefalonia.html Aghia Efemia is a really lovely little village and harbour with good tavernas, where you can eat at any time of the day and evening! The little beaches near to Makis are perfect for chilling out on. Take snorkels and rubber sandals and swim with the fish! I've still got pix I took with my underwater camera! Delightful apartments with amazing surroundings :)
We were at Maki's twice in
September 2009 and again in September 2010 and we hope to go back again
this year. Both times we said that we will not be looking for different
accommodation for future holidays.
Once again every recommendation for Makis, his apartments, and the island it self.
I went to the Makis Apartments in July 2005, me, my mum, dad and brother absolutely loved it to bits. We all agreed that it was the best place in Greece we have EVER been and we have been to around 12 different Greek Islands!!!!! Makis and the staff were all brilliant, they were all so friendly and helpfull. Nothing was too much for the staff. They would advise to go try out the best places on the island and tell you how to get there, best times to go etc...
We got really friendly with makis and the waiter (manuel) and they even gave my brother a nick-name!!!! ((jack daniels))
We have all agreed that we are going back to Makis Appartments in 2007 and we are looking so forward to it.
If you are considering goin to Kefalonia then i strongly advise you to stay in the Makis Apartments!!
the makis studio is the worst holiday apartment i have stayed in. the list of faults with the apartment are endless ranging from exposed electrical wiring, broken windows todirty bed settees and insufficient crockery. the room was so dangerous we had to keep the children out unless sup**vised by an adult. however the area was nice and the pool and bar exellent. the greek evening each friday is too expensive and most who attended felt 'ripped off' with the price and standard of food.highly recommend hiring a car to visit some of the excellent beaches in particular myrtos beach, but even this didnt compensate for the dismal accomodation.

the people were very freindly and helpful.
The cleanres did a brilliant job of keeping the rooms rooms clean and even tidied up after us.

Just enjoyed the most wonderful week in Ag Efimia. People warm and welcoming - cant wait to get back. Sounds corny but this was by far the best holiday I've had for peace and quiet. Not too many tourists as arrived 05/06/05. Strongly recommend.

We stayed at Makis in May this year and absolutely loved it. The apartment was a good size and had a balcony that looked out over the bay to Ithaca. The view was breathtaking. The apartment was clean and Makis and his staff were very friendly and helpfull. They offered a discount for breakfast and lunch in their restaurant and we had some very good meals. Definately one of the best restaurants in Agia Efimia. They organised a Greek Night with music and dancing, which was great fun.We went all over the island in a hire car and we did not find anywhere we would rather have stayed.
