The Gonatas is a wonderful , traditional Greek family run hotel with scruptious home cooking.  We first visited the Gonatas last year  and were overwhelmed by the family's wonderful hospitality, friendliness and helpfulness.  The views from the rooms are breath taking overlook the sea  and the stroll to the village refreshing.  Nicki bakes the most wonderful pastries for breakfast and Rita the most mouth watering pizzas!  We visited again this year and had the most wonderful time, spending a few quiet hours by the pool and then strolling to the neighbouring Paradise Restuarant - truly delightful.  A great experience made truly memorable by such a genuine and lovely family.

Had a lovely time here last week. The hotel was kept spotless as was the pool area. Nicky her sister Rita and staff were so friendly and made us feel very welcome. Breakfast was more than adequate and the lunch we had on our last day was very tasty. We really enjoyed our stay here and won't hesitate going back.

We found the hotel to be clean and friendly and only a short pleasant walk from the village of Aghia Efimia. The view from balconies at the front is wonderful. However, do not expect a hearty breakfast; it is extremely poor. You will be charged for anything cooked or extra to the cheap cornflakes, bread, or hard-boiled eggs - even natural yoghurt. The ensuite is also small with barely any room to enter between the basin and the door hitting the toilet! One more thing to remember is that the hotel has one of only two swimming pools in the town and it is open to visitors. There is a very popular restaurant very close to the hotel which claims to be the oldest in the village; the food is very good. Overall, I would recommend staying at the hotel as our stay was very enjoyable and it is well positioned to visit the north of the island but be prepared to bring your own cereal or pay extra for a better breakfast.

Lovely pool, friendly helpful staff - Dimitra even scoured the bars/restaurants of the village for me when my hire car was delivered late. The kids (aged 10 and 7) and I loved it. Stunning views and lovely pebbly, rocky beach/coast on the doorstep ideal for snorkeling and swimming amongst the fish. The half mile walk into the village was very pleasant except on days when the temperature was over 100F. It's built into the rock of the hillside so it shook alot less than the centre of the village during the 6.4 earthquake!!!

We didn`t actually stay at the hotel but visited a few times to use the pool.Everywhere seemed to be furnished to a high standard and the view over the bay was outstanding. The pool was excellent but a lot of the sunbeds need replacing.Very quiet as the hotel is quite small and I think a lot of people didn`t fancy the walk from the village. Also the bar at the pool was never open.
