Ocean View Hotel - (Accommodation in Skala)

We recently stayed in the superior apartments at the ocean view and being on the top floor could actually see the ocean. We thorougly enjoyed our two weeks and would definately return. The apartment was much bigger than any we have previously stayed in when in Greece and had air conditioning (although a little expensive at 49 euros a week) and a television (although all the channels were in German for some reason!) We rented a car for three days (which you do need if you want to see any of this beautiful island as the public transport is actually worse than that in the UK, if that is possible) from Greekstones and would recommend them to all. The only noise we encountered was from a dog on heat barking all night and the resort went a little crazy when Greece beat Spain in EURO 2004!!! We would recommend the Lamb Soulvaki at the Flamingo taverna, The Kilo of lamb chops at the taverna opposite NERO bar, and the onassis cruise. Although Greece's economy is suffering since joining the Euro we still found that many of the tavernas were very affordable. If you are staying at the ocean view, the hill does seem less steep the longer you stay there!!

We really loved this taverna and ate there 4 nights during our stay. We went there on my 24th birthday and we were given free drinks of our choice. (My mum had a bit of a soft spot for one of the waiters and wanted to bring him home!!!)

We only discovered this place when we had two days to go but had our breakfast there on our last morning. At 5 Euros for a full english, (2 Eggs, 2 English Sausages, 2 English Bacon, beans, 2 Toast, Tea or Coffee and a glass of fresh juice) it is probably one of the cheapest in Skala and it was delicous.
