Glad to see Bob is still in business. On our last visit he was thinking of moving somewhere else. Each time we visit Kefalonia regardless of which resort we are staying in, we always pay him a visit. Bob's service is excellent. If it's quiet, he likes to sit and chat with you but is never intrusive. On one of our visits, I asked if his moussaka was made with lamb or goat. He said goat. I decided to give it a try it but unfortunately it wasn't to my taste - to me, it tasted of coconut and the texture of the meat was stringy,(having said that, I did manage to eat about half). When Bob saw that I couldn't finish it he insisted he make me something else - no amount of protesting helped. Bob made me a super pizza in its place.
Moonlight Cafe is definitely worth the drive. The indifferent service you might find in other restaurants is not evident here, the owner really cares about his food and service and makes you feel welcome - sometimes the food is not quiet there but mostly its great, you feel really welcome and the prices won't be bettered - highly recomemnded
The Moonlight Cafe-Pizza-Restautant Loveley little roadside Cafe/Restaurant in Zervata, (next village along from Grizata) close to Sami, on the road from Sami to Poros on the left hand side. The owner Bob is a very friendly and genuine man who has a real passion for the food he cooks. His menu offers all the traditional fayre that is available in most of the other restaurants plus delicious pizza’s from 6:30 onwards. The differences between his place and the others are that his prices are very reasonable (two people can eat and drink well for 20 euros) and that he really does take care and pride in his cooking; he also makes a mean Pina Colada! We drove there from Lourdas twice especially to eat his tasty food. The Moonlight gets 10/10 from us.
