Just returned from 2 weeks in Kefalonia. We ate at this delightful taverna twice and found the food of good quality and the staff very friendly. The sweets were very impressive and large. The restaurant had an authentic ambience about it which made for a relaxing evening. Would definitely eat there again should we revisit the island.

Returned from Lassi last weekend and ate at Ionio once, hate to say but the service was poor and the fod was average.  Had a long wait to even place our order for drinks/food, and it didn't improve muh from there.

We arrived back from Kefalonia on Tuesday night, as usual our favourite nights were spent in Ionio.  Fantastic food, very friendly, helpful people, especially Andreas (even though he caught me out trying to get me to write with his exploding pen infront of the whole taverna!!!) Also a wonderful  view of the sunset. A varied menu - Moussaka delicious and red snapper, gorgeous!

This is one of the best restaurants I have been to in Greece, and beleive me I have been to lots.  Not only was the food fantastic but the waiters and waitresses could not do enough for you.  They were so welcoming and friendly they are really lovely people.  The english lady standing outside welcoming you to the restaurant was very funny and friendly and provided us with complimentary wine with our meal.  I had the red snapper wrapped in paper (filo Pastry) this was a truly scruptious meal as was everyone elses (all 9 of them).  Thank you to the Ionio restaurant for maintaining the traditional charm and character that we remeber Greece for.  What a fantatic restaurant.

This restaurant was so amazing!! We have been to Lassi 5 times now, but never eaten here.  What a shame as it was stunning!  We ended up here after walking out of the Sto Psisto restaurant as the service was so bad.  We passed the Ionio and looked at the menu outside, and there was a really friendly english lady outside who recommended the food to us.  We jokingly said to her that if we all ate here tonight (there was 9 of us), could we have a free carafe of wine?  That was no trouble for her to arrange, we entered the restaurant and were shown to a lovely table straight away and immediately given the carafe of wine, and the waiters/waitresses couldn't do enough for us!  They were such lovely people, very friendly and professional.  The service was very quick and our food was amazing.  I had the cheese pies to start with and they were lovely, and everyone else in our party enjoyed their food.  some of the main courses we would recommend are:  the stuffed lamb with vine leaves, this was a gorgeous dish, the lamb was so tender and really tasty.  The red snapper wrapped in paper (which was actually filo pastry), my sister had this and she loved it, it was a massive dinner and really scrummy!!!  My husband had the seafood spaghetti and this was also excellent. The kids meals are fantastic value for money at around 3 euros each!  The kids loved them.  All round we went here on two consecutive nights, and even on the second night as soon as we arrived, we were given another carafe of the wine on the house (I can fully recommend the house white wine, it was great!).  You also get a nice shot of ouzo at the end of the meal which was nice.  Our bill of the first visit was 139 euros for 9 people, which was one of the cheapest and best meals we had in Lassi during our 2 week holiday.  I would eat at the Ionio every night given the chance as it is by far the best, and I wish we had discovered it earlier in our holiday!  We will be returning again next year, and look forward to eating here again! 

6th visit to Kefallina and went to the Ionio 3 times. The food service and everything was great. Lambros and Andreas are the best, they made me laugh so much, there great fun!

Went to this restaurant twice.  Excellent greek food, international dishes average.

bloody love the place,lovely people,fab food,good beer,just go there for a nice meal and you should meet some good friends.Alot of the locals go there so that says something,

we did try another place,sirtakis,which was lovely but very busy,the ioino is just right for us...

my 18 year daughter had tears in her eyes as we walked away....she'd being serving behind the bar for 2wks!!!!!

i have no doubt that we will go back,just like the friends we meet there that have been going to lassi for 20 years

This was our most favourite Restaurant in Lassi - there Lamb Kleftiko is amazing!  The service is brilliant too very friendly and welcoming staff - vistited this reatuarant twice on our holiday - the only restaurant we deemed good enough to go back

Really nice friendly place, we ate here twice for breakfast and once for our evening meal. Had the sea bass which was lovely for 10 euros. Definately worth a visit.

Went there on our first night and returned every night for the next two weeks! The food was amazing, prices were good compared to other restaurants we thought about going into.......... service was the real highlight for us, got to the stage we didnt have a free shot of ouzo, grenadine & orange juice, we went and sat at the bar and Lambros would mix us a different cocktail to finish our meal off.

the first place we ate was here. On arriving  we need a light meal the omlette were delicious. went back to eat 3 more times. all the meals were good. there were 4 of us and the prices were reasonable.The lemon chicken was beautiful. and my friend had vine leaves for lunch  they even serve half a salad if you wish. Always made welcolme and always went out of there way to speak as you passed.
